507 Clamp down petition?

We, motorcyclists, are our own worst enemies. I am fortunate to live very close to the Hockley store, so I am there fairly often. The number of idiots that pull away from the store and try to make as much noise as they possibly can seems to be escalating this season and the locals are running out of patience. And it’s only April. 2 Sunday’s ago I was at the store when about 12 to 15 high performance cars came to the stop sign. Every one of the cars did a major burnout as they left the intersection, tires smoking and making an amazing amount of noise. About half of the vehicles lost control and fishtailed wildly while heading south through the village. At the same time there were kids playing, people walking dogs, your typical little village activities. I know that these guys were driving cars not bikes but the locals really aren’t going to discriminate, they have had enough. I am expecting a serious law enforcement presence from now on when the weather is nice, and we did it to ourselves, didn’t have to be this way.
Oh yeah, get off my lawn!

Take a few pictures and remind her that she could be held liable for any injuries. Manslaughter? Lawsuit? Lose the nice home on Hockley?

Does she put up wires across snowmobile trails to behead sledders?

Point out that you will be posting her address on a motorcycle forum that consists of mostly law abiding citizens but one never knows if a non law abiding rider also gets to see it.

I wonder if she would sleep better if a loud pipe rider stopped at the bottom of her driveway at 1:00 AM and just idled a bit, a few blips of the throttle and then took off.

Suggest she gets out a broom and clean up the mess.

People move to nice roads and then want it to become a private reserve. FOTC is similar.

Farm country is similar. Move away from city pollution and then complain about the smell of manure and the sound of tractors.

I'm not against legal methods but booby traps are illegal. Get the county to put in a speed bump with the required signage.
It's almost like you were there. This happened about 15 years ago. You pretty much summed up my conversation with her.

@GreyGhost, I am assuming the actions of the elderly woman angered you. At the time, it angered me too. We had a dialog and she was just fed up of all the noise and was concerned for children in the area. I remember her saying that she was terrified to be in the car backing out of the driveway because she couldn't see bikers coming and when they do they come so fast.

I don't and didn't condone her actions but I certainly appreciate her frustration. People in my neighbourhood seem to drive like they are trying to qualify for pole position.
And yet she illegally backs out of her driveway. Idiot

Not illegal. Provincial laws on that are stupid. Section 157 says you can't back onto a roadway with a posted speed limit of 80 km/h or higher. I can think of very few downsides to that being 50 or 60. People will moan but life will be safer and traffic will flow better.
