50 shot dead - Orlando shooting

One person can walk into a bar or a school and kill dozens of people in seconds. In the US nearly half a million people died from firearms between 2001 and 2013.

What's your threshold "mass destruction"?

I'm sure the irony of what to do in response to "mass shootings" is to call people with....wait for it.....guns.....is lost on you.

So you're claiming in 12 years 500 000 people died from firearms or over 41000 per year?

Including suicides, sure.

Here's something cool. Or is it?

I heard some liberal tried to shoot Trump the other day but he attempted to steal the gun from a cop first. Now THAT sht is funny.

Yep, very very cool.

I hope you don't complain when the terrorists that you blame everything on gets some of these...sold to them of course by you legal gun owner/seller.
Give them another year and they will fix the wind speed issue to make that automatic also.

So let's see hookup 4 of those, mix in the use drones 500 yards away and target anyone you want from the air and ground.

What can go wrong with this?

I don't live in fear. ;)

PS, maybe we could do something about not letting terrorist into the country in the first place............

PPS, can you explain how the US has the lowest per capita murder rate in several decades while at the same time total guns in the US has grown by millions and millions? Yes, that's a bit inconvenient for the gun grabbers isn't it.......

What do you do with the terrorists born here?

Booze is designed to impair your judgement. Otherwise you'd be drinking alcohol free beer. Dont BS me. 1000 folks lost their lives thanks to drunk driving and we, collectively, are okay with that number. But you're crying about 200 shot and killed? MAJORITY of them being individuals already known to police (fact) and an even bigger majority committed by unlicensed individuals (fact)

So yeah. You're full of it. But that's par for course. Everyone wants something done when the results won't impact THEM negatively. You said every life matters and we should do what we can to save them.. well let's get stricter rules in place for buying booze.
I never said im okay with it, i clearly said, i love my beer, it would suck if it was banned, but go ahead if thats the decision thats brought forward, i'll respect and understand. Less drunken drivers that can hit me on the bike too :D

That's some logic you have there. You claim that carte blanche the intended design of guns is for rampant killing (which is wholly untrue in and of itself). But intended design, regardless of how flawed you apply it, doesn't actually kill anybody.

If you were truly genuine in your arguments, you'd be looking at results, but of course you and the balance of gun-grabbing progressives aren't.

As is being pointed out, there are so many other things in society that kill people in far greater numbers which you justify with all kinds of emotional pleas but that doesn't change the fact that lots of things kill people. Trying to cherry pick one specific item and censuring 10's of millions of law abiding citizens for owning them is disingenuous at best, or more accurately outright lying about your agenda.
So tell me. The inventor of the gun, what what his intent? What did the chinese want to acheive by putting gunpowder in bamboos filled with shrapnel/spears?

And yes, lets tackle other causes of death that are more important like heart disease, strokes, diabetes, etc but you can't say that you can not trust someone to feed themselves properly but in the meantime you trust their judgement with a gun. When 1/3 of your population is obese and 1/20 of it is extremely obese... there's something lacking in terms of life choices.

If someone isn't smart enough to put the right things in their bodies to fuel their bodies to...hmmm live, how can you deem that they're smart enough to operate a weapon.
Health should be a priority before owning weaponry.

Hell we could even argue that the obesity epidemic leads to depression which drives a lot of the suicide statistics no!? (somewhat farfetched but ..not really)

You guys AR killin it with the words today. Is this going to get resolved tonite or spill over into tomorrow?

To summarize, it's okay to sanction people for the poor choices of others, unless of course it's you personally right?

Do you think it's possible that the intent of the very first true inventor of the gun could be for hunting or self defense? And even if the first inventor of the gun was intending to use it for killing humans (and not for hunting game to survive), is it okay for the 2nd "inventor" of the next gun to have intended it solely for the defense against the first "inventor" of the gun (and maybe to hunt along the way)?

In your mind has there ever been a gun "invented" that wasn't for killing people?

"Using numbers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we found that from 2001 to 2013, 406,496 people died by firearms on U.S. soil. (2013 is the most recent year CDC data for deaths by firearms is available.) This data covered all manners of death, including homicide, accident and suicide.

According to the U.S. State Department, the number of U.S. citizens killed overseas as a result of incidents of terrorism from 2001 to 2013 was 350.

That's a pathetic, defeatist attitude... so Im not surprised that you have a hard time understanding gun owners fighting for their rights.

D doesn't answer questions that don't fit his narrative. He couldn't possibly wrap his brain around a massive decline in US homicides while people are buying up more guns by the millions. Therein lies the fallacy - the gun grabbers want Americans to believe that crime and homicide rates are increasing, when the opposite is true. Doom and gloom sells. Unfortunately for them, it also sells guns! LOL

By all means sanction my poor choices, especially if they endanger my fellow citizens. Or maybe simply implement stricter laws and structure surrounding said poor choices.

The way the first firearm contraptions were operated i doubt that it would've been for hunting or self defense due to the lack of accuracy and time it took to make the damn thing work. That is until it got modernized enough in the late 19th century and later.
Definitely agree that some firearms might have been created for hunting along the way... but until you got the accuracy right... you'd be wasting your time and scaring your target away.

Also the water gun answer made me laugh

As you mentioned, alcohol is made to impair your judgement. Alcohol causes deaths. Alcohol also destroys families and creates (in certain extreme cases) health issues.

Drugs in general will have after effects. The government gets to decide which ones are accepted (legal) and which ones are not (prescription) aka stricter rules or illegal/banned.

Why can't we have something like that for guns.
Get some experts. Analyze cases "is it really needed in that person's situation, what are they wanting to use it for"

And your 'rights' that you're talking about we're basically talking about STRICTER GUIDELINES. You'd still have your 'rights', its just not gonna be a FREE FOR ALL where anyone in any condition can get a frickin lethal weapon.

People fight more for their rights to firearms than to have access to freakin affordable healthcare.... I think that healthcare is more important than guns (especially considering the leading causes of death) and as i've repeated several times... i think Canada has a good grasp of the level of scrutiny that needed for firearm possession.

Who cares what they were designed for. They're a tool to kill. You can kill humans with it, you can kill animals with it, but you can also shoot paper targets with it. And you can participate in competitive sports with it. The vast majority (99.99990% and that's a real number) of firearms are used for the latter purposes.

Unlike you, those millions of law abiding gun users will fight for their rights.
