250 riding group

I'm going to plan the 18th's ride today. What does everyone think the max kms should be? My rides are usually 7-900 kms.

Trying to figure out what's happening ... in the event I end up not riding to PA, I'll be happy to lead a ride to the Niagara Region. If that happens, I'll be putting a cap on the group size to ensure we have enough coverage for mid-lead and sweeps. (similar size as last ride, so it'll be noob/2-up friendly as well) I'll save the border-crossing for another 2 weeks ... :)

How often are the breaks? I'm still breaking in my helmet and sometimes it hurts after long riding. If the break is like every 2 hours then I'm out cuz I don't wanna drag you guys.

I'll do breaks every 45 minutes to an hour like Saturday, I just want to keep the breaks shorter. Just annoys me a little when I ride for 45 minutes then stand around talking for 30. A 5-10 minute break every 45-60 minutes is cool with me. This ride probably won't be too close to 900 kms as I know with newer riders some aren't as comfortable as others for longer periods of time and fatigue easier.

I'm just debating whether to include Algonquin park and elephant lake rd. Even without it right now I'm sitting at ~450kms. I'll probably leave it out for another time.

Haha, I still remember my first long ride with an old foreman of mine back when I still had my m1 3 years ago. I was riding my buddy's '09 250 and I was out for 770 kms which took 13.5 hours. It was fun.

Edit: I will be riding 2up, so I will need to stop often anyway.

Ok that sounds perfect.

I'm ok with elephant lake rd. or other technical roads. I will do it at my own pace and within my own comfort zone. It might be a 10 to 15 mins' wait for u guys at the end of the road, and that would be it.

Is it gonna be one day only? It would be more fun if we stay out for a night. But im totally flexible with any arrangement. Or we could split if some ppl wanna stay for another day of riding. But i definitely wanna ride somewhere. If this is not happening and theres no other plans i will prbly go with Andres to lake superior.

Ok, I have the route together. We will be meeting at 8 AM on Saturday August 18th at the Tim's on the corner of Major Mac and Jane St. Here is the meet location...

https://maps.google.ca/maps?q=43.84...9.535469&spn=0.006569,0.016512&num=1&t=h&z=17

I would like to roll out by 8:30 AM. Please PM me for the route. Also, I will use PM's to try and limit the size of the group. I would like to keep it to 12 bikes or less.

I would also HIGHLY appreciate it if someone would volunteer to be mid-lead and sweep. Andre, maybe you can be mid-lead since you also have a gps?

My route includes some very technical roads (the best I've seen in Ontario so far) so I will have to stress that everyone going PLEASE go at your own pace. If someone wants to go faster and pass, they will, when it is safe to do so. I will wait for the entire group to get back together at every turn we have to make. For any other questions or concerns don't hesitate to send me a PM.

send me the route so I can start building the route on the gps, and I am in for sure for this on the 18.

I would appreciate that anyone planning to go to this send me a PM to confirm so I have a general idea who is going and how many.

HA! I said the same thing to Andre yesterday at the blocko show.

Room for one more? I've been itching to finally get in on a group ride, and I like the sounds of this one - good looking group. Alhope34, I'll fire a PM your way.

I'd like to add that if it's going to be raining all day on the 18th, my ride is obviously cancelled until I get back from vacation.

I'd also like to reiterate that HAVING YOUR M2 IS A MUST for my ride.
