Lost them, got wet crossing Simcoe.Pictures or it didn't happen
Looks we rode a lot of the same roads on Saturday and likely passed each other going the other direction. I was chatting with a fella in Barrys Bay during a poutine lunch stop who was from Niagara on a Strom 1000 just out for a extended day-trip as well.Went on a really nice ride today for 1130km over 12 hours. Once I started riding, I just kept going and didn't stop much except for gas and a few pics. Made me think that it would be interesting to do an Iron Butt ride, except instead of doing it on highways, I would ride primarily twisty backroads. Highlights were Northey's Bay / #44, Flinton Rd, Tatlock Rd, Old Barry's Bay Road, Elephant Lake Rd, Dyno Rd and Deep Bay Rd.

I found @Mad Mike 's ducky
Took a nice gravel road called River Road between Ardoch and Ompah
If you have never been on Tatlock Rd #9, check it out. It's an amazing road just off the 511 on the way to Calabogie. Speaking of which... Calabogie was beautiful!
It was suggested to me that after Calabogie and taking the 508/71, then I should head north along an easy dirt/gravel road call Hyland Creek Road. I'm riding on fresh Pilot Road 4's and this was a very easy road and pretty scenic.
Found out where all the lumber is hiding
This is a pretty nice rest stop on Old Barry's Bay Road with a waterfall and shallow water for swimming
I think this pic is from Lakeshore Road, which is off Lake Kameniskeg Rd, south of Barry's Bay. Looks like some nice beaches in the background.
I met up with this guy - turns out he used to work in Peel region and knows where I live. Told me that everyone speeds - and asked me to slow it down a bit and have a nice ride. What a super guy!
Yeah Northey's was dead when I did it Sunday. Just 2 cars in the opposite direction..one was OPP..Looks we rode a lot of the same roads on Saturday and likely passed each other going the other direction. I'm going to explore Old Barrys Bay Road a bit more and see what's up with all the religion stuff. There's Priests Ponds, the Szare Szeregy monument (which looks kinda cool), Church under the Pines and the whole Wadsworth Lake area. Not that I'm religous, just curious.
I don't often ride weekends but was pleasantly surprised in the lack of road traffic (Northey's and Matawachan Rd are usually one's to avoid on weekends).
Lots of people in our virtual meetings hide their backgrounds but I’d say a good 30-50% are working from the cottage.Yeah Northey's was dead when I did it Sunday. Just 2 cars in the opposite direction..one was OPP..
I guess people are Work From Cottage now.
@mimico_polak so 300km range is the same as the stock one, in terms of comfort? I'm looking at getting a SC for the T7, hoping atleast 800km days are comfy. Right now, at the end of that things are sore. I use a sheepskin, its so so.Nice ride Shane! I’ll have to join you one of these days once it cools a bit! My butt hurts from 350km ride.
@ScorpionT16 the new seat is much better than stock, but still a bit uncomfortable after 300km. Will have to throw the air hawk on.

I think I’d jump in for a dip.I see a bike pic with water in the background and I’d be tempted to stay there and go fishing .

Honestly I think you hit all the good stuff in that area, Musselman's Lake and Herald rd (which is nice).I wanted to explore Stouffville for a while now. But since I had some personal stuff to do, I could only squeeze in a 2-hour ride - 110 km give or take.
Just a relaxed ride - straight roads with some elevation changes. Nothing much to write about.
If anyone has better routes to suggest in and around Stouffville, please do. I would like to try and do a ride during the week after work.

I have done some rides exploring fire access roads on the west and southwest sides of Algonquin and also the fire access roads on either side of the 507. Lot’s of fun riding for your bike on those dirt roads.@mimico_polak so 300km range is the same as the stock one, in terms of comfort? Great routes, noted! I follow closely, and did the Kinesis Lake one you suggested, was a total roller coaster ride. Love the Minden Hills area, used to always go to Muskoka, not anymore.
I've been exploring the back roads, lots lead to dead ends, or gated off trails. Some nice Fire Routes
I have one you can borrow. It's about 10 yrs old, but it was my go to resource until I started using a GPS.Is there a map of the backroads out there? My biggest worry is getting in there and getting lost far from home.
