2014 track day schedule

Hit me up, when I go I have a fridge, power, possibly room to sleep and have been there plenty of times now... I have a pretty good handle on the track if you want advice. Pretty sure there are pieces of my bikes still there... lol

Damnit I wish I had a camper tenting sucks !

20 corners, plus two corners that have an A and a B so actually 22 corners,, 8 lefts and 12 rights,, 8,,maybe 9 major elevation changes of about 65 feet, jet blown every morning,,,,,, figured you need about 70 laps to learn which way the track goes,,,then you need to "learn" the tracks character. If all you have ridden is TMP,GB,Shannonville,,Treat yourself and do 2 days!

I can't justify the cost of the track day itself vs. two track days at Grand Bend (which is only an hour and twenty minutes from my place). I'll probably be able to justify it after I ride Calabogie, but not yet. ;)

Calabogie is way worth it, Id rather spend $1000 on 2 days at Calabogie then 10 days at Grand Bend........Its a totally different experience riding a track like that with the higher speeds, elevation changes, and corners you have to link together to run properly...Grand bend it like taking the bike around the block in comparison

I did TMP a few years ago, and this past season I did Modport, Grand Bend, Shanonville, and Calabogie......Mosport is #1 for me in terms of bang for my buck as its only 1 hour drive, #2 is Calabogie only because of the drive, track alone its #1, then 3rd is Shanonville, #4th Grand bend, and last place GTAM's favorite TMP

I want to try and get out to Mt Trembalnt this year, and any other tracks in Canada that run bike track days....And as soon as Pro6 releases their Calabogie schedule in Dec I will be buying a few of their weekends also

I've ridden Mosport big track too.

You guys make it sound like going to 'bogie will ruin the fun at all other tracks. Just like people say racing will ruin track days for you.

Going Commando will forever ruin underwear

I don't think racing will ruin track days, but it will make you use track days for other purposes - Like testing the bike, etc

Oh good. I already use track days for that. I ruin underwear NOT going Commando.

How's calabogie for noobs? I've only been to 3 TDs and tbh I'm a little intimidated. I've inly done tmp and mosport DDT

The green group has some solid riders so you can prob find someone to be a rabbit for you. Come play! It's way different from those tracks, 4+ km each lap....

Calabogie is just fine for beginners. Like pretty much like every other track day, Pro 6 has 3 groups, one for novice riders. Pro 6 has a program to show the track to first timers ($30). They'll lead you around, show you the corners and answer any questions. The track is very wide and forgiving of minor mistakes that would be an off on other tracks. The blind corners can be intimidating, but if you look for them there are signs at every corner indicating which way and how sharp the turn. And, usually, there are pylons indicating entrance, apex and exit of each corner.

One thing that is different is that you can spend your time learning the "line" around the track and improving your riding without the worry of learning to avoid or deal with faults in the surface.

Thanks for the solid review. Time to save for an expensive summer.

D and I have been there together for a few years now. Good times. We brought a friend with us this year who has never ever ever done a track day. He isn't even comfortable doing corners but can wheelie forever. (So can D) He survived and had a great time. I still can't stop laughing cause seems he would come by us on the front straight and would be looking at us in the pits with a smile on . Too funny. So noobs; don't worry. Have a good time.

You will probably kick yourself for waiting so long. And call in sick for 2 days, and keep riding. Its that good. :)
