That is a nice looking bike.

Nice looking bike.
Is that an ABS setup on the front wheel?
Why do they all cheap out and only give you a single rotor?

Yes, that is an ABS "tone ring". Given some upcoming regulations in the European market, expect ABS to be standard across the board in Europe for everything. Whether it is standard or optional here, is open to question.

Single front brake rotor ... because it doesn't need two front rotors. The single rotor looks plenty big enough.

ROFL! I'm sure they've learned a little. Apparently the Ninja 300 is having the same issues (unforced stall) :( Damn injector shut off on deceleration! DynoJet is working on a firmware update for the PCV that can override injector shut off so that should fix the CBR 250's as well as Ninja 300's and any future bike that suffers the same fate.

Too bad I've had 3 insurance companies tell me if I put a PCV on any bike they would not cover it and if I did it anyway they would deny any claims if it was found in the wreckage.

Stupid rules.

Also, this bike weighs as much as the previous generation 650R. Not exactly light, IMO.

That's why flashing the ECU is such a better option ;)

Do you actually have it "on paper" that they'll deny your claim if a power commander is found on your bike? I tried to coax it out of my state farm agent but she said they just group it under "unapproved modifications" and wouldn't tell me that in an e-mail :(

Nothing on paper.

ECU flash would be a nice option. I assume it can't be done on all bikes, though.

So info is out! 6 new models are CBR500R, CB500X, CB500F, Goldwing F6B (what a monstrosity), CB1100, and a refreshed CBR600RR

MSRP of the CBR500R is $5,999 in the US, -$500 for the CB500F. +$500 for ABS on both

The headlight on the new 600rr reminds me of a 1980s maserati.

nothing for Canada yet, I assume you can just add 2 grand?

LoL if that's the case I'm going to the US for one! I'm liking that CB500F! Depending on how they work the CB500X that'll also be an option.

I want the cb500x! NOW
:(

(edit) and the pricing for it

I'm happy they dumped the stupid looking exhaust the 250 has for a more generic cylinder ala the ninja that will promptly get removed and replaced by something else when I get one of these. Apparently not hitting the dealers until April anyway. I'm a little disappointed with the seat hight. It's just a shave taller than the 250, which for someone 6' tall is a really short bike. I was hoping for a bigger bike, not just more cc.
