2011 ZX 10R v BMW S1000RR feedback

What kind of crash Johnny? Track, stunting, street?

Street......Highway speed wobble after hitting a hole/grove in the road, off the road into the grass at about 150km/h. Or so the story goes from the owner...Subframe, rear wheel, and all bodywork....Just didnt expect to see that kind of frame damage, the slider that goes on that motor mount was barely even scratched...So minimal Its going back on the bike for another round, unlike the frame......

"Had to lay'er down, son..."

I don't think it's unreasonable to see a frame crack in a [claimed] 150km/h get-off. On the track maybe not so much, but on the street? Curbs, trees, sign posts, ditches, rocks, etc etc. They can only build it so strong....

It crashed in the grass, no curbs, no ditches, no trees, no rocks.... It went off the road at 150, so it most likely scrubbed off more speed before tumbling in the grass....If you seen the bike, it looked like its was only cosmetic body damage, a bend subframe and a bent rear wheel...There was nothing there to lead me to think there would be a crack right through the frame....The sliders were barely even scratched, handle bars were fine, rearsets didnt even bend! No road rash at all, just grass and mud.....Basically the exact same thing as a run off on a track into the grass with a little tumble action....

Im no stranger to crash damage and broken frames, Ive pitched bikes down the road at 150 end over end, smashing every single piece on the bike besides the motor and frame ..So again I did not expect to see a broken frame biased on the other damage, and the fact it crashed in the grass not on pavement....Swing arm straight, forks straight, tripples straight, front wheel good, even the gas tank is still mint....Broken frame!?!?!?!

And were not talking about a little stress crack, it cracked clean through the left hand motor mount...

Yeah I guess that doesn't sound right then. I assumed it hit a solid object at some point maybe causing the crack. I trashed a bike at the track at 150+ as well and it didn't cause any serious damage beyond the usual small stuff.

It does seem that frames have gotten considerably weaker over the last 5 or so years... perhaps because of the neverending quest to get lighter and lighter.
