Just out of curiosity....what's the fix for this? or do they have a fix for this?

I know of an '08 that has never used a drop, literally, of oil in 8,000 kms. I know this for a fact. I have read that it is about 40% of them that had an oil burning problem in North America. Not unlike some other bikes like the Kawasaki KLR650 when highway ridden.

Yeah, I have the 08. I carry a 4L jug of Motul with me and usually top it up 3 or 4 times a day... brutal. :roll::eyes:

Then get rid of that cheap Motul! I use Bellray mineral. Sticks like glue. Never need to top up.
What's the problem? Can't fit a 12 litre box case on that tiny passenger seat?:lmao:

The 2008 is an inline 4, 4 stroke engine. They have never been 2 strokes, even Rossi would find that a handful to ride both on the track and the street.

Reminds me of an article in a 70's magazine where they tested an AMF Harley and found that it used more oil than a Suzuki GT750!

That was only because they couldn't reliably turbo the two strokes so they had to go to 4 strokes in 09 so they could fit the turbo. I sold mine 'cause I didn't like the wine it made at speed and I bought a ZX14 with a supercharger instead. It was a two stroke but didn't burn any oil at all.







Btw, that was my poor attempt at being funny. Either sarcastic or facetious, your call.
