200,000 km on my bike on the weekend!

Congrats. I work waaay too much and that's when I'm not at work too. 44200k on a 07 but I ride almost everyday from Aprilish to Dec. That ride might only consist of all of 6mins riding to Aurora from Newmarket at 1:30 in the afternoon.

I don't mean to offend....and I must say I know nothing about your employment or family situation....but I find it almost inconceivable that you can put on 55000 km in a year. This would almost suggest non-stop riding from March to December, allowing for a few hours of work each day. Personally, I have a difficult time convincing my wife that a 200 km run on one of the weekend days is a good idea, and there is invariably some sort of payback involved. I was rather proud of my 3000 km from early July until last weekend when I put it away.

I only rode my streetbike 4 times this yr.
...and put over 10,000 kms on it,LOL

Yah....sorta,LOL
The longest ride this season = Brantford-Maryland-West Virginia-Virginia-Kentucky-Indiana-home,LOL That one was 3500ish kms......4 full days of riding.

200k??!! Well done, sir!

Ted has done a great job with my tires, chains and those bearings. fortunately he hasn't needed to do anything else on my bike. Best thing he did was show me how to make my chain last.. my last chain was replaced at about 75,000 km and had some life left. My current chain is over 54,000 km with no signs of wearing out.

What kind of chain lube do you use and where do you buy it?

Ted told me to lube it with every tank of gas and not bother with cleaning. I assume he told you the same?

My First two chains were cleaned with kerosene and lubed with chain oil every 1,000 km. They lasted around 30,000 km (I can give you exact KM if you want.) For my third chain I listened to Ted and used HHS2000 with every tank of gas and after every ride in the rain and got 75,000 km with some life left. From my point of view his way worked very well!

Ted sells it, but my work uses it so I can just get it from work when I need it. I don't know who else carrys it but suspect that many car dealerships and garages use it.

Congratulations.

I saw the new whitish V-Strom 650 and it looks really good for that type of bike. Has a Beemer kinda look which is ok on it. Carbon fake parts and new seat for this year were really nice. Felt nice and light, and not top heavy when I sat on it. I can see why people like these.

What is HHS2000? More detail please. Who sells it (auto, motorcycle shops, bicycle shops...?)? A spray can? Manufacturer's name on can?
