200,000 km on my bike on the weekend!

Congrats Tom, I knew you'd get to that milestone this year!

I have just over 40,000 km on my 2007 cbr125 and there are others with more on those. I've gone past 100,000 km on two different bikes. Right now I have too many toys to put that much mileage on any single bike; the riding gets spread around between them.

Awesome!
At my going rate, it will take 55 years to get that much on my bike. Due to work, I've put MAYBE 5000km on in the last TWO years!
Only time I change oil is for storage lol.

In the GTA, people somehow are deluded into thinking 30,000 kms is high mileage,LOL

yea, try selling a ninja 250 with more than 5000km on it. since most crash or write them off around 5000km people seem to think that one with ~32000km is a unicorn and can't possibly exist without some sort of terminal issue...

Hi All,

I made 200,000 km on Sunday! I bought the bike new at the end of July in 2006, and every year I seem to ride more than the year before. This year 55,000 km so far. :)

Thats fantastic and an inspiration Tom !! Lots of stories you can tell I'm sure, close calls etc... any crashes? Had to be at least a couple tip overs for sure. Your average is 40,000 per year , cars average 20,000 I believe. Holy crap what do you run in the winter studded Blizzaks? Met you a couple times Tom, not sure you remember..you lead a ride around Lake Simcoe , after the ride for Liz event.
I 'blew' the oil filter on my new to me vfr and you graciously topped me up with oil in the Newmarket Cdn tire store parking lot. You don't forget a guy like that helping me out, you're a gentlemen. I'm playing hooky from work, riding Fri and Sat, would love to ride with you again if you're local, (or a day run for you might be Florida??) Ride on!

You are the man Tom!!! 55,000km in one year... I hope I can do that one day. I've put about 10,000 on my car and the same on my bike and I got both last November, so I have a long way to go:)

You so need to put up today's freezing rain pic.

Awesome ! Congrats!

Here is tonight's freezing rain pic, just after I pulled into my garage:

The roads weren't too bad, but my riding suit was frozen solid and I had to work at keeping ice from building up on my faceshield. may take my car to work Weds.. first time since March.

This...

2008 = 3600km (total).

Between the bike, the 'Stang and work, it'll take me at least 55 years to get anywhere near that mileage on either toy ('Stang is at 37,000km...from 2005).

Amazing. Rode with you once in Peter's group for butter tarts. Go Suzuki!!! As the previous poster mentioned, you should inform Suzuki Canada.

Congrats on the milestone!

And a motor oil company...

Congrats on the milestone and getting home in one piece tonight!

I'm not wishing you bad luck or anything, but I;m curious what the internals of your engine look like.

Must be a fun 200k

By now 8 punks have had some sort of soft seizure from reading this, put on their motorcycle gear, and driven their car to Timmies to pose around until they feel better about themselves. Some have also put Power Commander stickers across the forehead in their state of panic.

PS: congrats!

Awesome!!...congrats on the distance...i'm working on 27k Kms in 2 seasons on my 250, hope to break 36k+ by next season...time...if I only had more time..

Of course I remember you.. how is the bike doing? I still haven’t opened the hand cleaner! I work Saturdays so that kind of limits my Saturday riding (apart from to work.)

I had two on the road "crashes". The first was a few km after I turned over 120,000 km. I made a right turn into a side street and didn't see a van making a left into a side street,. I locked up my front wheel and laid down the bike. Apart from some scrapes no real damage to the bike. My fault entirely!

The second (and hopefully last) was around 140,000 or so KM. I was heading down a back road (gravel) and came up to a car that was going slowly. It was after dark so i knew my headlight were very visible. As he slowed down I did as well. Now, I am very paranoid about cars slowing down and not signaling because they usually follow with a U-turn so in that case I generally stop behind them and honk my (very loud) horn until they signal. Since it was dark and he pulled to the right I thought i was safe and started to accelerate. He turned left right in front of me.

I don't think I hit the car but did lay down the bike and did about $700 of parts damage. He was an older gentleman in his 70's and immediately owned up to it and took responsibility. (He said he saw me but forgot i was there once he realized he had passed the address he was looking for.) It was hard to stay mad, especially when he tried to push start me (my clutch broke off so the interlock stopped the starter from working.) Bumping didn't work so I hot-wired the clutch switch and rode home without a clutch. I had the money for the parts in my hand the next business day. All in all things could have been much worse so I felt pretty lucky that day.

Oh wow, what a nice man. You right it could have been alot worse.

You should put it up for sale and state the 200,000km and see what kind of offers or responses you get.

Because he did what he should have, that makes him a nice man? I would just call that taking responsibility. Gotta love how the old man said he saw him there and knew he was there but forgot about him. I love hearing about old people driving and forgetting about things while behind the wheel.
