+1 on casino mr. Rob ford

So who should we leave the decision making to if the general public are too stupid?

It's obvious council isn't making decisions based on the best interests of Toronto.

I dunno. Mayor Marshmallow, Council or the great idiot masses...rock and a hard place!

Why knows what's best? Serious question.

We, the public have no idea whats feasible and achievable. Sure subways sound much better but a lot of groups and boards with educated people say they wont happen. Ford is clueless. I have no idea what the council really knows and what's agenda.

I sear, I would trust a group of university students from another city to come up with best solution if they were presented with this question as a case study project.

3 years ago I invested in a house in the area of a recent multi billion dollar developmental hype for Woodbine Live and in Rob Ford's riding. A year later the house value jumped 33%. Fast forward 3 years later Rob Ford has done nothing for his own riding there's tonnes of undeveloped land. If this casino goes through the first place he better put it is in the woodbine racetrack. This area is so primed for development with the airport, 427, 401 and 407 nearby. All he has to do is connect a subway line to the airport and business will be thriving in Toronto. It might ease up traffic congestion too.

I want a unicorn that farts rainbows. Can we have a referendum on that too?? :happy2:

Fully support the casino idea but if the casino is at all for tourists (if the purpose is to make money off of people who do not live in the GTA as well as those that do) lets build it downtown where the tourists are. It can be a class place in an interesting location that people can walk and cab to right from their hotels.

If the purpose is to bleed money out people only from the GTA and NOT from tourists, sure build it at woodbine.

Montreal - 10 minute drive from downtown, and accessible from the metro station that ships tourists/locals on a bus every 15 minutes.

Calgary - 3 casinos downtown

Vancouver - casino downtown

Toronto - largest city in canada - nothing.

Are you using this as a measure of success or failure?? :-)
