Its not all that stupid. You are far more likely to get your bike stolen or be in a collision in Toronto. That's why your rate is higher, it's stupid I know...

He's 37 I'm 41, he lives in Kitchner I live in Toronto. He got his M licence 1 year ago I got it 3 years ago, he's been riding motorcycles since he was 30 years old I have been riding motorcycles since I was 12.
He has had a driver's G licence since 2001, I had had one since 1989.
The only thing he has positive over me is location, so we should be paying the same to even things out. Don't punish me for the idiots that have had accidents in my postal code.
Oh stop being a baby, I pay 1700 a year for a effing 125cc. Dont be such a little *****.
You're 41, if you can't afford it don't ride. Nobody likes weiners or whiners.
To all those saying it's an acceptable rate: look at what it costs in the USA for *identical* coverage. It's easily 1/10 of what OP is being quoted. It's the state of affairs here, and there's no sense ranting about it, but it is NOT acceptable.
P.S. remember that this price is just for 4 months of riding since I don't ride before June or past September

It is much cheaper to insure in the US however we don't live in the US and we need to live with the reality that it's damn expensive to insure motorcycles in Ontario.
The $1 million liability is what is killing our rates. Apparently back in the 80’s umbrella liability coverage was abolished. Which is completely idiotic because between two cars a bike and a home your technically paying $4 million in liability. Its redundant and completely unnecessary, but we live in an insurance oligopoly in Ontario.
