$1,400/yr To Insure Me For An R6....

I wanted to buy my buddy's R6 which I ride quite often and Duffy Ins. would not insure it but asked for a quote through Premmium, they want $1,400/yr for a 2010 R6.... yeah right and that's not even full-cover. My buddy is younger than me and has had his M licence less time than me and he's insured for the same bike for less than $1,000/yr.

I came here to blasphemate Intact's rate increase a month ago, my bike (750cc Sport-Tourer) insurance rate went from $537 to $674 a year, apparently Intact bought Jevco my old insurer. I just got an online quote of $952 by TD Menochex. I got another quote from another company higher than Intact too. I might have to stay with Intact since they are the cheapest as of now, and keep my current bike for now.

P.S. remember that this price is just for 4 months of riding since I don't ride before June or past September

What is the point of this thread!? Are you looking for cheaper insurance on the R6? Or did you just start this thread to rant?
1400/year for a super sport isn't horrible.
 
Being the encyclopedia of knowledge that you are.... obviously there's a reason for it. Age. Location. Years insured with the same company. Who knows. Maybe they heard you smoked a turtle and just don't like you.

$10 for a can of bug spray!!!!!!! im not happy about this, we need justice.... Only one thing to do now, I will start a thread about rising prices of insect repellant...

Try telling the broker you lubed your axle sticks, they offer a 30% discount for that. Safety first.

wtf i pay $3000 for a 650r (liability ONLY) LOL you should be thanking insurance for that quote i'd take it anyway

He's 37 I'm 41, he lives in Kitchner I live in Toronto. He got his M licence 1 year ago I got it 3 years ago, he's been riding motorcycles since he was 30 years old I have been riding motorcycles since I was 12.

He has had a driver's G licence since 2001, I had had one since 1989.

The only thing he has positive over me is location, so we should be paying the same to even things out. Don't punish me for the idiots that have had accidents in my postal code.
 
No you should not pay the same (don't mistaken it for that I agree with this concept, I do NOT), the location has much more weight in his favor, the fact you are 4 years older means nothing, as well as how long you have had your M. So things between you and buddy are not evened out, not even close ....
 
Who's he insured with?? Cause I've got an 03 R6 and I pay well over twice that. So who's he insured with? Not going into my stats.
