09 CBR600RR with ABS with 22k for $8000. Reasonable?

I would happily pay close to a grand extra to get the ABS

Most of the alternatives posted above have no ABS

I just sold my 2007 with 16km for $6700. Thing was mint tho. Looking at other bikes made me realize how mint my old bike was.

Please pm me the info. I'm desperate. But don't tell the seller that

I wont... I think that's a pretty fair price and would feel comfortable paying that amount. I pm'd you his info.

2011 for 7300 is an AMAZING price lol

OP what a crappy deal.....did you even look around?

heres some listings you may want to consider before that 22,000km for 8 grand one you found.... i know its in the classifieds in here.. but im sorry to whoever is selling it.

WOW Not that I'm looking, but NUFF respect for doing all that work to help this guy find a better priced one, bro!

In 1-2 years when I'm looking for a 2013 CBR600RRA, I'll holler at you to help me find one (jkjkjk)

ide avoid the 2013 cbr600rr. it finished last in the 600cc class shoot out competition. all they did was give it a new set of plastics, nice plastics but thats about it.
they did suspension and brake upgrades either 2011 or 2012.
ya i know i just got my 09 600rr this season, but ill be upgrading in a couple years, if they add a gear indicator and other features the newer gsxr and ninja 600s have then ill grab another honda. but technology wise, the 2013 is behind its competition, hopefully 2014 or 2015 adds more electronics to go with its upgraded look...and add more colour options to the canadian market.

and it's hideous to look at from the front.

So an 09 with 22k is reasonable at 8 grand? Granted I bought a gsxr but I got a brand new 2012 for 9200. How is 8 reasonable on a 4 year old bike

Honda tend to hold value best of the big 4 jap companies.

+1

and on the 2013 cbr600rr....dont like the headlights AT ALL...looks like some one took the previous gen head lights, and punched them in really hard

Thanks, I went yesterday and grabbed one of those black '09's with ABS.

I know, I read all the reviews and the shoot-out on MCN (wassit? Can't remember which mag). The only reason I'd avoid this bike is because it's a 1st year model, BUT since the drivetrain and almost everything under the fairings is unchanged, it shouldn't have the typical 1st gen problems.

This will be a 95% street-ridden machine, so the healthy ergo's of a Honda are a plus for me. I also don't switch bikes very often, which is why I'd pay more for something newer. I ride a naked SV right now: 65hp/50 lb-ft of torque = THE PERFECT street bike... I think 100hp/45lb-ft of torque will be plenty awesome for me, as this will be my first SS... and seriously, the difference between all 600's is like +/- 10hp... on the street that means practically nothing - I won't be trying to compete in Moto GP anytime soon... frig, I don't even watch Moto GP LOL. I like the upgraded big-bore showa fork, and I believe it's new for 2013. The positive reviews of it make me want this bike more... the stock SV suspension is limiting my confidence now that I've begun pushing it harder. I also want Honda's revered ABS.

and it's hideous to look at from the front.

I absolutely LOVE how this bike looks - the all-red fairing model looks SOOO AMAZING, IMO - and its different than all the other SS's out there, which is a fantastic bonus. I like that most people aren't taking to it LOL maybe I can get it cheaper....

The only thing I don't like is the under-tail exhaust... never been a fan of those, so I'm also considering the newest ninja, or an 09+ R6.

IMO: All of the super-sport bikes for street or non-competitive track riding are so similar that the only difference between them is looks & colour schemes.

i cant remember which mag did the reviews, but after reading it i was disappointed.
dont get me wrong, its a amazint bike, just their 2013 overhaul left much to be disered when compared to its other competitors.

the tail vents i like if they actually function. my 09 tail section gets cooking (mind you, no heatshields because of my new exhaust and undertail light) so if those vents blow air into the tail section and cool it down i think its a good idea.

Thanks, I went yesterday and grabbed one of those black '09's with ABS.
glad that helped you out. theres probably nothing wrong with the bike with 22k on it, its just overpriced for what it is... its not a new bike.
as much as i would love to get 8 grand for my bike in 2-3 years i dont see it as very likely. 6500... sure...7 would be pushing it. but we will see what the market holds by then. ive noticed prices of used bikes have risen over the last 2 years....and they are selling. maybe in 2 years ill get 8 for mine... maybe the price of new ones will go up which will make mine for 8 seem worthwhile to the used market.

I wanna add that be cautious when going to those guys "360 Motorsports" where I bought that '09.
Emailed and called them a couple of times saying that I'm coming to take a look at that one specific CBR with ABS. Same day drove all the way from Kitchener to Vaughn. They didn't really have idea who I was when I came in. Wtf?
So I look at the bike.....pretty clean. Look at the milage of the bike expecting 6700KM and it shows in miles...So I change it to KM on the display and it's 11k. So I'm kinda ****** at that point. I tell the guy this is not as advertised. He sings me a song that he has tons of these bikes and must of messed up, when I know for sure he just didn't know or bothered to check the bike in KM. Tell him to start the bike....had to hook up the battery booster to it. Starts no problem. But the buddy knew I was not happy. I even told him straight up that I called and emailed them that same day and they didn't even bother to prep the bike for my visit. So I went thoroughly through the bike at that point. He said that their mechanics look at them before they go on the show floor. Yet, I saw some bikes on the floor there with rusted chains with 0 lube on it. So all I'm saying is that check those bikes really good. I'm hoping to pick up this bike today or tomorrow. I will see if I'm against any shenanigans and will report back.

Typical salesman. They will also pretend there are 4 people coming in to see I later that day and if on the phone someone else is looking at it right now.
If the chain is rusted it will need to be replaced very soon.

its a registered dealership they have to have it listed with exact or slightly more km than actually on the bike otherwise they are breaking the law. If it has more km on the bike than advertised they can be fined by OMVIC.
soo... listing it for sale with 6km but it is actually 11km is very illegal. If you want it cheaper... call omvic on the or threaten them with that after you print the listing

DUDE!

You missed an awesome opportunity to begin bargaining.... you couldda hammered that price down at LEAST $500... then went and got a new helmet or jacket or somethin. Justsayin'

Also; if you're ever serious about buying a vehicle at a dealership, print out the Ad. Always. Also, ask to speak to a specific person on the phone, introduce yourself and be personable (tell him.her how excited you are about the bike, ask questions if you want/can). If you wanna be remembered, you have to do something to be remembered: these guys deal with tyre kicker's ALLLL day. Esp. for motorcycles.

Fully agree which is why I would never spend the extra because it says honda on it. If I could have had a black 2012 cbr 600 I would have but since there were none available I saved huge getting a new 2012 gsxr this year in comparison to any of the 2013 bikes. When I looked at the situation I said the same thing. They're all so similar why not save a bit of loot.

p.s. that red thing is still hideous :D
