    Fancy a RV?

I used this to tow my bike to Jennings. (and Calabogie many times) The RV park near Jennings had been sold and was in the process of being upgraded (now a KOA park). Part of this was restricting RV age. I had no problems, this is a '74. There are 5 fibreglass panels with the roof and upper...

January Motorcycle Supershow - Jan 5-7 at International Center

I concur. The show was busier than usual, maybe even a bit too crowded. Many of the track and sport bike oriented vendors took a pass. If you're looking for cruisers and posers, knock off and junk dealers, pot (& pans) and personal weapons, this is your show. I was surprised at the show of...

Help pick tires for track days

I have an '06 CBR600 but I'm a little lighter than you. I've been using the GPA that Pro 6 had on special for a while. "something with grip" and "last all season" are a bit mutually exclusive. I would get 2 weekends out of a front and 1 weekend out of a rear, running low to mid 2:20s at Calabogie.

    Trailers, Campers and RVs…

This past spring we did a 4 week trip to BC towing our RV. Actually my toyhauler for the track with the garage reconfigured as an office as we had to work from home while on the road. Driving one of these trips takes a lot longer than flying, but you get to see all the sights along the way...

    CSBK Round 1 advanced tickets

I don't know how they've done it recently but in previous years, yes, the only seating was stands along the front straight just before turn 1. You could take your chair (I suppose) to the rim around 17, 18, 19. Calabogie is a great track to ride, spectating? yeah, not so much.

    Best sprocket combo for calabogie

If this is your first trip to Calabogie, don't go out in the Yellow group first thing (they may not let you and require that you do the intro course first). It's a long track with a lot of corners, a bunch of blind corners that look the same first time out. It's easy to get lost as to where...

What's a good ultrasonic cleaning solution for carbs

As GG says . . . There is the possibility of damaging the part if it is touching the the sides or bottom of the cleaner. Where the Ultra Sonic source is placed is the most likely to cause problems. My cleaner has it attached to the bottom, other have it on one end. The cleaner is usually made...

Ideas information needed on building to building Wi-Fi extension

Yes to this. I've done it a couple of times. I used EnGenius 100 Mb system. Newer models over 500 Mb.

What's a good ultrasonic cleaning solution for carbs

I use Warm water, ammonia and Murphy's Oil Soap. If the solution is new, run the cleaner for a few minute to remove some of the absorbed air. I've also seen people use 100% Pine-Sol. Keep everything suspended in the cleaner, away from the bottom and walls.

Filling up while sitting on the bike

I have, quite spectacular. Perkin's hardware, Main St. Unionville. As I understand it, IOM and endurance racing require the rider to dismount (and stand clear) wile refueling. A tank of riding for me is 4 hours or more. The extra 5 seconds to get off the bike and put it on the centre stand is...

Tire shortage? Is there going to be one? When?

They were short of stock at Calabogie as well. On the Friday they wanted to hold onto slicks for the races and sell me GPAs, as a trackday rider I was OK with that. I think by Tuesday all they had left for full size bikes were 190 GPAs.

    vaccine poll

The pharmacy where I got my first shot called us last week and moved us up another week. Got a second shot (Pfizer) on Friday. Saturday was a bit of an off day for me, lethargic, mild fever. Flushed and bled the brakes on the track bike, that's a slow and tedious job anyway. Should have taken...

    vaccine poll

I went through the Durham site today trying to book my second shot. Durham is providing second shots to 70+ and selected priority groups (which I am none of). There is however an option for Pfizer as a second dose to AZ, since my first shot was AZ, I took that. After entering all of my...

    Optimum gearing for Calibogi...

I run the same gearing for Shannonville as Calabogie, however I never get to 6th at Shannonville. -1/+2 or 0/+4 on a 2006 CBR600RR. You can afford to run a little shorter than stock, as said earlier, you won't run out of RPM.

    F1 Thread!!!

I heard a comment the other day that Kimi had become a master of conserving tires. That's just wrong. Bring back the "drive the wheels off it" Kimi of old, and the old Alonso too.

    Crown Land Camping

Last year some time I was browsing the Ontario bids and tenders website and noticed a few "Electrification" projects for Provincial Parks. Adding electrical services for RVs, 30 and 50 Amp, distribution systems, etc. I recognized the parks by name but I don't remember them now. I didn't bid...

    Pulsing brakes

Pulsing brakes had been common problem for me on my track bike, not so much on my street bike. I was using EBC HH pads on both bikes, still have them on the street bike and they work great. The problem at the track turned out to be pad transfer. The interface between the rotor and pad gets...

    Coronavirus

I had an interesting conversation with an expat Canadian living in the States a week or so ago. She is concerned for her mother living here in Canada. She had learned that her mother had not registered to get the vaccine. She had been following the recent news in the US, CCN for the most part...
