Check the reviews do yourself a favour. the cb1000r is not very great this year. Z1000 seems to be the best bang for the buck. Cb is lacking in a few key areas. I have seen 2010's going for 8$k on kijiji or pony up and get a streetfighter 848 used for 12000 if you can find any.

i keep reading the CRF and the CR both need rebuilds about as frequently. apparently the 2001 cr 250 is a god send engine wise. (motor of doom? people keep using that term lol) so 2 stroke being easier to fix, that sounds pretty sweet!
