I've had a nicely sorted first gen FZ1 and now have a nicely sorted second gen for my commuter/touring bike. Flash it (Ivan), drop a tooth on the front sprocket and it's a great do it all bike which can be had for very little money. Suspension can also be sorted out fairly cheap. That said...

That's my concern too. I feel like I could push the window further into the afternoon but I'm not eating any more despite skipping breakfast and my mid morning snack. I'm not doing this as a weight loss effort, just something to do. After a couple weeks I will probably have to start eating more...

I just switched out the weekend bike from an FZ-09 to second gen Tuono - foot pegs are noticeably higher and further back. Both bikes are a blast. Daily rider/tourer is a well sorted FZ1 which can be had for a song these days and may also be a good choice here. Both bikes are also dirt cheap...

Valves on these are typically a bit tight from the factory. Not a big deal to adjust. Insurance doesn't HAVE to be pricey. Mine isn't.

FZ09's are crazy overpriced. That's inline with what they should be in my opinion. Insurance can be really reasonable as well. I'm toying with the idea of selling mine and getting something else for the "weekend" toy bike...
