Rider with back home experience and don't need to wait for 18 months for M but having some challenges

you may as well fork out the 400 and take a proper m1 course - your back home experience may not be sufficient for keeping you safe around our drivers. And for the cost and weekend, that will solve your inability to get proper insurance for your own bike. Seems like a simple solution.

    Your winter maint. plans..?

Yep - I have a regular torque wrench. I was doing a 1200 conversion to my sportster and when I had to torque the headbolts down to inch pounds, I realized very quickly how much you over estimate that kind of measurement.

The 100% Covid19 free riding reminiscing thread.

I've done both your rides before. I kinda wished I pushed to see the above monument. That would have been a great thing to see. BUT, the stretch from Minnesota to Rapid City is brutal. And I was on my stratoliner with batwing so I was fairly comfy compared to my riding crew (who were on...

    Rev match sequence?

I don't know a single rider that looks at their rpm to shift gears.

    Gas station discrmination

Likely the attendant was told by management to force riders to come in to pay...for whatever reasons - stolen tapped card, ride offs, topples, etc... This one probably didn't know how to explain why, so just said that bs to get you off the bike and inside. I've seen a rider almost tip over...

    Rev match sequence?

I think you're splitting hairs when it comes to the wear and tear part. What kind of bike do you have btw? The blipping is all about keeping your ride smooth, when transitioning into a lower gear... Really, you could pull in the clutch, and take your sweet time getting back into gear...the...

    Soft shell fleece vs down

I dislike the bulk of multiple jackets, and it begins to affect flexibility and range of motion - i'm thinking of getting some plug in gear myself...pants would be good too if you plan on longer fall rides.

    Stupid Q about exhaust bracket

As long as the band can fit snugly you're fine to use without that black rubber. If it doesn't, you'll get some vibration noise which will suck the life from your soul.

    E bikes rampaging Toronto streets

What a **** show. And the dude fixing the guy's horn. Plus the full gear with the skater shoes. And the whole pack pulling over all over the road. Also - with regards to the ebikes, might have been spoken about but if an e bike hits you, that thing can cause as much damage as a real...

    Driveway Overnight Parking

Wait. What? It doesn't ruin your bike?????? Are you sure about that? Next thing you'll tell me is that a dropped bike is still ridable.

Safety first! Helmets should be compulsory for everyone. Accidents do not happen on the basis of religion.

You can send any kids to catholic school - if there's a population problem, they can deny you if you're not catholic to provide a spot to someone that is. But these days, you don't have to be catholic anymore. Also, in regards to a catholic just putting a turban on, I think you'd have to be...

    Buyer Beware - Bayside Performance

If its legit under the clearcoat, its a production issue, you should be able to work directly with the company - if its clearcoat blemishes, good luck proving you didn't do it during install (therefore no warranty)..

    HOV Lane....fingers crossed everyone

I saw nothing Thursday riding from Burlington to markham... just a waiting game now - side note, I think they increased the Niagara stretch of the QEW speed limit too, but still no sign changes (or am I wrong about the increase?)

    M testing

Everyone I know checks mirrors often when on the bike on the regular.... As for the course, I would suggest taking it - you only know what you know. They'll teach you more skills you likely haven't developed and stuff you likely just don't know/didn't think about. When I did my course at the...

    Heavy braking: locked rear tire

Locking would happen if you jammed on the pedal - the sudden application would cause a lock - the ability to be smooth even at high threshold braking is key. And fishtailing would likely only happen if you're looking around...panic usually causes fishtailing.
