    New Harley Streetfighter

I appreciate what HD is doing, but they've painted themselves into a corner by catering to their die-hard fans over the years. No one else is interested in their machines and when they try something different.....well, we all know what happens. My son thinks the Streetfighter is cool but he's...

If you could have one bike...

So far my current Super Glide Custom is the best bike I've owned; despite the Harley nay-sayers. Totally reliable, comfortable (mid-mount pegs), fast enough. Gets me everywhere I want to go. Quick release luggage, windshield and backrest makes it a multi-purpose tool. And I loooooove looking at...

    Take your pick

Saw that same thing in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Valet parked Rolls Royces on the same street as guys carrying dead rats in a cage strapped to their scooter. The gap between very rich and very poor is pretty obvious.

    Old bikes still going strong!

What's the 'certain' SE Asia nation? Bike culture thrives in SE Asia in a much different way than here. I stayed in a hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia last summer that had a collection of vintage scooters in the lobby.

I personally don't haggle a lot, but what's wrong with trying to save a few bucks? Haggle wherever you want. It's not about being cheap. It's about having more money available to do other things.

    Superleggera V4 - yikes

Amazing machine. Start a Motorcycle Investment Trust and get a bunch of people to invest in one. Put it away for a few years then sell to some rich oil Sheik for big profit!!

Contemplating a new ride for 2020. Suggestions?

I have to say, I was never a fan of the HD Tour Glides but after borrowing a friend's and spending some time cruising out on the open road, I get it! They are popular for a reason. I'd never get one for the city, too big, but on the highway with or without the stereo playing.......comfy.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

I was referring to the fact that it's a 3 track vehicle. Easy to avoid potholes, etc. on a single-track motorcycle. Not so much on a 3-track. Have you seen the streets of Toronto? Horrible. Nothing to do with handling out on the open road.

    TD Rate Hike..... 60%!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

I get that, and it's good to have the option if you need it, but the Niken doesn't stand up on it's own. All the disadvantages of a trike, and you still have to look at the thing when you walk away from it!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

I just don't get the advantage of having a 3-track vehicle on the crappy roads we have here. That includes Can-Am Spyders and trikes.

Heads up on Nexus renewal (application?) delay

My Nexus expired last year and my reapplication was processed immediately and had my new Nexus card in 6 weeks; no interview required. My son reapplied for his Nexus 2 weeks ago, we'll see how long it takes.

    2019 success stories

Did a 3 week tour of SE Asia (Laos, Cambodia, Taiwan & Malaysia), including renting scooters and riding into the wilderness. Discovered a whole world out there that does not involve all-inclusive resorts, big cities & local North America road trips. Now I've got the travel bug!

    More ducati stupidity.

$32k isn't outrageous when you consider what you get in a car for that price. Nice pickup trucks cost $70k these days and you see them all over the place. To me accessible means the average Joe can come up with a downpayment and get approved financing for the rest if they really want their...
