Had the 1st year DL1000 in 2002. It had the clutch 'chudder' so had to replace the basket but after that, ran well for the next 5 yrs. Bought a NC750 this past spring but am keeping an eye on a Vstrom upgrade hopefully next year. Let us know your thoughts on yours over time.

Yup, likewise. Over ten year old pair but still of good quality.

I think Suzuki was the only brand that had that POS clutch lever activated start switch. I may be wrong however but it was a pain when it got dirty over time and didn't activate and of course it was always at an inopportune time.

I had great transactions with them but I could sense there was some internal mgt issues.

I rebuild a lot of old Mercury race engines and always find that the NOS factory bearings are either getting stupid expensive or NLA. I never had any issues with the aftermarket bearings except some Chinese versions. Some propiatary versions were always tough to source but I found lots of them...

It's an '05 1200 model. I had a 1250 and had too many FI problems so unloaded it.

Got new Shinko touring tires recently installed on the Bandit. I was told to expect up to 12K km with them but who knows. That would work out to two summers worth of riding as I have a 2nd bike to alternate altho I had a recent foot injury and as luck would have it, it was my shifting foot so...

Don't know if this question was ever answered but the west end 407 cameras were modified a few years ago to catch all angles of the tarmac such that we couldn't crawl along the side walls anymore to avoid the pic. It was great while it lasted tho....

Also, the older Vstrom 1000's had clutch basket issues requiring replacements.
