I definitely hear what your saying and I’m not disagreeing. I just find it hard to believe that any mere mortal can even come close to using the capabilities of Super Sports on the street So much that one of the more comfortable nakeds or sport touring offerings couldn’t do the job just as well...
Not all parents drive minivans lots of my friends have fast cars and plenty let their kids drive. Another buddy let his daughter drive around in a 10 sec Buick GN
My friends Mustang
Should be just over 900hp On pump gas When completed.
Sometimes you trust more than you should.
I would say it’s Dads car and Dad is into nice fast cars.
I have friends with fast cars and kids. One is building a 1000hp Fox body Mustang. I’m sure some of you have kids and still enjoy a rip. My Dad has always been a car guy. When I was 17 Dad bought me my first car, 68 Firebird in the 90’s...
When I think Super Sport I think track focused machines.
GSX-R
R1 & 6
CBR R
Panagali
RSV4 R
ZX6 R
full fairing, clip ons made for 1 purpose. Fast
Naked or Super naked
Super Duke
Tuono
790 Duke

MT09
Sport bikes with a more comfortable ergonomics and more street-able power curve.
That...
And it gives us something to banter about.
My car forum that I frequent has turned into a political forum hence I don’t go there to debate anything anymore.
The debate was never about the fairing at all. It was about the bike as a whole.
its not the lack of a fairing that makes an MT09 a better street bike than an R6.
The FJR Makes a better street bike than the R1 and I would argue so dose the Tracer 900GT. The R series bikes and Super Sports in...
For example
Im planning a ride from Bowmanville going to travel Lakeshore road east to Port Hope (that road had a rough winter btw). through Port Hope taking some country roads up to rice lake where I will follow twisty roads along the lake and up into Hastings. At that point I will ride the...
For me the fairing is not the ”problem with a super sport it’s the ergonomics.
They call the Tuono a naked yet it has most of the fairing still in tact.
I do get the complaining about wind on bikes such as the MT09 it does get tiring.
I can handle the wind over a torture rack if it’s going to be...
That high speed you speak of has no place on public roads.
I have maintained a nice spirited pace between between 15 and 30 over on an all day 400km ride on a naked bike. Yes the little bit of experience I had on a 600cc SS ended after 45min because it was uncomfortable. But yes if I was going...
I’m not sure why you would think they would be gone yet.
The can do so much.
No they have no purpose on an MX track but they are capable of light off-road.
No they are not a moto GP bike but are capable of spirited twisties.
No they are not a super luxury touring but you can log some pretty...
Not to hyjack
But I was terrified at the start thinking my renovation business can’t handle this.
I was ready to list all the toys. Now I’m more worried about the work load I’m going to have when I get back to work. My summer is already booked. I have a bathroom reno booked as soon as her kids...
Back when I was racing ATV’s my uncle who was racing with me became a Kymco dealer. We raced a Yamaha, a Suzuki, a Can-Am, An Arctic Cat, my Honda but not one Kymco on the team. Their Atv’s were junk. He brought in about 8 and sold them all for cost just to get rid of them. Went back to just...

For just a little over 1/3 the cost of mine this sure looks like a lot of fun.
kinda wish I found something like this before emptying my bank account.
bite your tongue ?
I’ve already logged 3000km of very enjoyable riding with out roasting in all my gear at every stop light. My temp spread is 10 to 25 is enjoyable 2 to 10 is doable as is 25 to 35 just not all that enjoyable. All pending the moisture situation.
I don’t usually head out in rain...
There was a member on here just posted up pics of a very nice cbx500 that was nicely equipped as an adv bike. It was a tan colour and looked very sweet.
It was videos like this one that sent me searching for that little bit more that I could get out of an adventure bike over the Super Naked.
And still be as capable as I required on the street.
Like I said earlier I have not even come close to the limits off or on road. Yet.
On the topic of adventure bikes. That’s a segment I haven’t tried out yet but I would like to see either a Tenere 700, Africa Twin or KTM 1090 in my garage in the next couple years. I would fully intend to beat the wheels of it off-road.
I thought that right up until you realize that your...
