Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I built a sofa table and it is solid walnut, not veneer. Cost was $50. I made it from a dining room table I bought at Restore for $100 and only used half the wood. “Brown” furniture is passé so it sits. So paint it. Long pieces are harder to find. Building from HD or Rona SPF sucks. The new...

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

I'm with you in concept, flatten him. However the after effects of having your day taken up with police reports etc, then days, weeks or months to get your vehicle back, loss of income (Insurance screws you). Then there's the off chance of a kid somewhere in the vehicle and even if it's not...

The Bad Drivers of Ontario Thread

More bike lanes coming. It's a bit secretive but some living near High Park consider it THEIR park. They don't want others using it. Most of High Park was land donated to the people of Toronto as a place to get away from cramped quarters.

Has the city lost it's mind...

Why do we need a women only organization when the problem equally affects men? I guess it makes for more committees to spend money.

    Local Auto Thefts

At 0:05 someone appears to be exiting the drivers door. Were they being hijacked or??? And Yeah @ 0:15 good thing the pedestrians were agile. I guess Justin will fix the situation by passing a law that says pedestrians have to be able to sprint.

    Bike lane removal

Nothing is simple. People have to be educated as to what socialism means. We all share in the work and rewards. Smoking: Fifty years ago if you asked for a non smoking table they put you next to the washrooms or garbage cans. Now you can't find a smoking table. The financial costs of...

    Happy Birthday Eglinton LRT

We've demolished more important architectural sites. Historic sites in Canada, especially Ontario, equate to new subdivisions in Europe.

    Social Media

I got on FB when my daughter was travelling though Europe. It was easy to track her without her reporting in daily. I added a few friends and relatives along the way but I'm getting tired of people posting on numerous different outlets, expecting me to sign up to all the different sites. I'm...

    Clothing Donations

Be aware that some charity shops are for profit, including Value Village. Our favourite is GBF in Grimsby and a bit out of the way for GTA dwellers. Restore / Habitat for Humanity is also getting into clothing. I like the home building aspect of the organization but don't know it's workings

Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

I've caught two collisions on my dash cam and stayed around to give my report to the police. However, both times I forgot to mention my dash cam but suddenly remembered when I got home, made and delivered copies of the specific times. I try to be a safe driver but I'm not perfect. I don't need...

If you look hard enough you will find cracks in just about any concrete. When there is a difference in the planes on either side of the crack it's definitely an issue.

    Police presence in home

When my late brother was a Toronto cop he was first on scene in some sad cases. I was lead to believe there were special clean up crews at the end to spare the family the added grief.

Here's one reason why people hate motorcyclists

Ages ago truck driver advised me to take the middle lane where there is one. That way you're only one lane change to a better one if traffic slows. Of course, when you take the option the whole dynamics change and you should of stayed put. It there a card game based on traffic logics?
