Whatever you do, don't put them in any of those parking lot "charity" bins/boxes. They all end up shredded and sold as rags at a huge markup.
I’ll make my own rags from the clothes that are too far gone for donations.Whatever you do, don't put them in any of those parking lot "charity" bins/boxes. They all end up shredded and sold as rags at a huge markup.
That's just the natural "evolution" of a shirt.Awesome thanks everyone for the tips! Appreciate it.
As a side effect...didn't even consider taking old t-shirts and making them into rags! I wouldn't donate them as they're too worn...but as shop rags they'll do great.
Some even have free venting ports....
My favorite shorts that I've had since 2003 finally packed it in this summer. I've patched them a few times but the fabric had become impossibly soft, thin and fragile and the holes were too big to patch. Some of my house clothes are items I used to wear back in 10th grade.
Stretched like hell and lost all hope of ever recovering...but you best believe its some of the most comfortable clothing items I own to this day
I don't understand why wives do that.shirts are one thing. I’ve had multiple sets of ridiculously comfortable sweat pants I’m 100% sure my wife tossed when I wasn’t looking.
Just cause you can see my skin through the thin parts…they’re still good IMO!
I've been to Mathew house in the past with my church youth group. Good peopleMathew House (refugees), or Dress for success (for job interviews)

Image if we went through their wardrobe and got rid of stuff.....
Wife: Have you seen my blouse????
Husband: Oh ya, I threw it out last week.
Wife: WTF?!?!?!?! That was my favourite blouse.
Husband: You didn't look good in it anymore, so I tossed it.
I have been trying to give away some of my business causal clothes now that I am WFH for eons....

+1 for shelters or places like Haven--business hours only (Queensway) for items that are in good shape. For stuff that is worn out there are actually still places that take it for other uses, but that takes some searching around.
Regrettably, we far too often just put it in a donation box being lazy, they don't always go to good causes...
