I didn't end up getting out....went out for Mandarin for lunch with my sister and BIL and promptly came home feeling really unwell for 4-5 hours. By the time things had passed, the riding window had closed.
I heard lots of bikes out though.
Next Wednesday is looking nice again. 90% of the snow should be melted by then. I'm still not tempting fate by putting the snowblower away or changing the cars to the summer tires yet though.
It was a beautiful day today! I only did a little round the block of just over 300 km (Port Perry to Bewdley to Cambellford, to Cobourg to Port hope and mainly back roads to home.) Most of the time the temperature hovered around 19c with one time it hit 21c. Beautiful riding weather! Saw lots of other bikes!
Just when we all hoped we were out of the woods on the road salt front, at least....here we go again, ice storm starting Friday night and carrying right into Monday morning apparently.
I'm sure the road salt will be getting thrown down hot and heavy.
The southern edge of the storm so far as ice vs rain is still moving around, so who knows what we'll get here in the city.
Guess I'll charge the car to 100% Friday evening, if the power goes out we can use it for backup to keep the important stuff like the furnace, tv, and internet going lol.
After a day and a half of storm cleanup I got in 350km today. Beautiful weather to be out. Usually I do plenty of off-road/unmaintained road exploring but every time I tried today I was met with trees down. I did some bushwhacking but grew tired or it pretty quick so stayed to the asphalt or gravel roads.
