Jan motorcycle show, plan on going?

Every year this gets "debated".

I'm not offended by the existence of dry meat vendors, shoe polishers, insurance companies, cheap leather resellers and other assorted carnival barkers/hawkers. I don't buy the crap, and if one solicits me to I politely say, "no thanks" and move on. No harm no foul - everybody's gotta make a living and the route they've chosen is a tough one.

There's likely a 3.00 off coupon so it makes it a bit cheaper. It's still expensive for what it was last year though.

It's a bit concerning that they don't have an exhibitor list like other trade and consumer shows do. I recall when the show was going strong that they did have one.

Is it worth it?

Is the 27.00 going to cause you financial ruin or is there something more pressing or better to do with the money? Do you have something better to do with every hour of your free time?

Is a couple hours of munching beer nuts, looking at vintage bikes, vintage road racers, stupid choppers and other custom abominations, gathering maps and stuff from municipalities and companies promoting riding an area, visiting club booths to catch up/renew membership, look at often non-current bikes for sale, shop for gear that's on sale, or just roam around inside a place that has something to do with motorcycles in January worth a drive and hefty admission price?

last year was kind of slim pickings for the stuff that I was interested in so I'm not sure yet.

Went to one of the shows last year. Met up with a bunch of riding buddies and looked at bikes. Then off to Hooters for a deal on wings.

FWIW The Hooters parking lot is right under the flight path to Pearson and it's pretty awesome having them buzz over your head.

I have not gone in years and don't plan on going.

I have to work a trade show a year for my company and that is enough...

i suspect it was more due to Covid still then anything last year at the OEM event.

I see your point.

As much as the January show has its downsides, I've likely been more often disappointed by the February one.

Nearly every year I go looking forward to seeing some specific model and find myself disappointed as it's not there. This has been from Japanese and European manufacturers equally.

This season I want to have a close look (as in I MIGHT WANT TO BUY ONE) at the BMW R1250RS, Honda Transalp, Husqvarna Norden, KTM 890, Moto Guzzi V85TT and most of all the Moto Guzzi Mandello. I expect that one or two of those will not be present.

At the same time, I'm more likely to go to the February show than the January one. In spite of the cost of parking and lack of vintage bikes, local riding clubs and beer nuts.

Interesting options, from sport tourer/naked to adv bikes.

Everybody was hugely disappointed that Kawi did not bring the Ninja ZX-4R to the Feb show last year. My car was so mad it blew a power steering hose in the CNE parking lot
