Jan motorcycle show, plan on going?

I’ll go. I like the vintage stuff, and talking to the guys that build bikes. There’s one particular sausage vendor I visit every year for some exotic stuff.

It’s a cheesy show, but for the price of 4l of cheap Motormaster oil, it’s not gonna kill my wallet.

And visiting the LC booth heros is worth the price of admission.
 
I Used to go every year until Covid. In 2020 got a great deal on a Shark modular, there were lots of vendors and GP was there and many other dealers selling NOS bikes and used ones.

If nothing planned with the family I will probably wander around just to smell the bikes and see who is more vintage the bike or the owners displaying them.

What is the LC booth?

That would be ideal, but I don't think there will be one. Most of the exhibitors are already signed up, certainly the biggest ones which would include places like GP Bikes or other large dealers. The dealers like GP at least provided lots of bikes to look at with the lack of manufacturers.

Another red flag for me is that the promotions for the show usually make mention of it being in 4 or 5 halls and being a big show. there's none of that this year. I think it might have changed ownership again as I don't see any mention of Peter Derry Productions who was the long time show manager when Bar Hodgson owned it and took it on from Bar.

last year's show was disappointing for me, and if this year's version looks to be the same I'm going to take a pass.

Well, if they don't promote it by stating who's participating then that says something. Guess I'll pass.

The MCC and MMIC share office space in the Woodbine/Steeles area.
After that last little fiasco when they tried to end run the CMA and get direct FIM affiliation they've stayed pretty quiet, mostly working with the off-road riders' groups.
Repeated harangues by me over the years to get them to try and do something about usury on-road insurance costs are perpetually met by the sounds of crickets.

I will be going to both shows. If poor attendance continues they will probably shut down completely and then we'll just ***** that there's no show to go to. So I'll go as I'm retired and haven't anything else that needs my attention that weekend. Besides, they have a seniors rate so I get in cheaper lol!
 
I wont stop bitching till global warming prevents freezing temperatures for good.
 
At that price...NO! I feel that the admission price should be no more than $10 or $15 to wander around what is essentially an indoor flea market. Even with the seniors rate is still too expensive because the discount coupon cannot be applied. Prior to the pandemic I would go to this show every year. I've bought a helmet, jacket, riding pants, tires and my Givi top box at this show over the years. The same deals I would go to the show looking for, are now available online.

It was better when the manufacturers displayed their new models at this show. Even though I've never bought a new bike and likely never will, it was nice to see and touch them. I've never attended the February show because I'm not in the market for a new bike and refuse to drive into the heart of the beast known as downtown Toronto. Hell, just getting through Brampton to go to the International Centre is a challenge to my sanity.

I believe these sort of "shows" have priced themselves out of the market and I for one couldn't care less if they cease to exist.
