Live rear axle, sidecar wheel can be engaged through a simple spline coupling. It's only used in snow and loose terrain.
You don't really need a diff when the difference in turning radius is small, and the terrain is loose. Look at at the older pre independent suspension atvs, 3 wheelers, Banshee and Raptors are all live axles with 2 wheel peel.
I think thats a Dpner drive fitted to a Ural. Urals own is brilliantly simple, couple and uncouple a solid shaft. Works similar to the old locking 4wd front ubs.
