In my industry we are seeing a repatriation of manufacturing from Asia. For a variety of reasons, meeting sourcing regulations for fulfilment of government contracts, provisions in grants and subsidies , ethical sourcing enforcements (FSC regs) and the public perception that they do not want Chinese products spec'd into their residential projects (American pride).
Big picture , the turnaround will never happen in our lifetime. India will be a bigger threat than China ever posed. They will be more advanced and have a never ending supply of cheap labour. And when we are done exploiting them we will take another run at ruining Africa again, for those that missed what the Belgians, French and Brits did last time , read up.
So we have a manufacturer in mainland china , with ties and engineering to producing components for 'other motorcycle companies' for a number of years that decides to ship a bike into NA. They partner with a firm that is spending next to nothing on infrastructure or advertising, no doing co-op advertising, no sponsoring regional racing, they must be kooky.
Well if I cant see it at a show, and they aren't paying for a huge lightup sign, and it comes from a country without a motorcycle manufacturing pedigree , you know the places like Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, spain , parts of france for Gods sake which the likes of Yami, Triumph, and Honda hang out. Well it must be crap. As was Hyundia when they showed up. They got better.
Kawasaki cant even build there WSBK engines in Japan, they are outsourced to France.
Its a global economy folks. Has been for about 400 years in Canada.
Since I'm on a roll, those retards you see driving around with the "out of a job yet? keep buying foreign!" bumperstickers? They have no idea what products Canada exports , where they go, and what kind of foriegners on the other end of the deal are buying goods these idiots had a hand in manufacturing.
