Just saw this downtown this morning.. .They removed the parking spots on Simcoe after the resurfacing an d put in a useless bike lane that ends at King Street. I'm assuming the bike lane is from Richmond street. What a freaking waste of time. Its not a major road and Ive never seen cyclists areound there. Most are riding east/west rather than south bound.. Where's everyone parking now? Pearl st was jammed.

fark .. found some information on it.. www1.toronto.ca/wps/portal/contentonly?vgnextoid=ae48a00f92dd5410VgnVCM10000071d60f89RCRD&vgnextfmt=defaultthis will keep the 5 people happy that use it.. what a freaking wast of time.

It's OK...once Rob Ford regains his powers he'll get rid of the bike lanes.

Maybe, Just *maybe* the parking will be relocated to the other side. This would mean there would still be two lanes for traffic to move down..

OR... Kiwi, just ride your bicycle to work, that should solve this "problem"!!!!
That aint going to happen. I did my cycling time a few years ago. ;-)btw - $400,000 for those lanes and the ones on Richmond St West (Which I agree with)

Ha ha ha! Relocated? Not a chance mate, another bicycle lane is coming up on the other side.

Just do what I did --- park on your usual spot like this:

why do they need 2 lanes on the same street? FFS! Nice job on the parking. I assume it wasnt sign posted yet?

$400,000? Expensive paint. Did they commission Banksy to draw the lines?

You'll be lucky if you'll find your bike with just a ticket...

Yea down town cyclists are pretty nuts. My bike broke down a few years ago and I stopped halfway in a bike lane and half way in a cab stand on Bloor by Bay and while on the phone the person I was meeting to tell them I would be late, a jerk bike courier clipped by mirror. I was standing right next to it. I can imagine what they would do if you were not there.
