10 mph ticket in NY State - reported back to Ontario

- the stretch coming north on 219 from Bradford just after you cross from Pennsylvania into NY -

Thanks for the location. I just checked my route and I've already avoided that road to Ellicottville.

Hey i know where to speed and actually avoided that stretch before ellicotville on 219. I myself got a performance award for allegedly racing a corvette with my prius :) at the same spot. We both overtake a sunday driver 12 over limit.

But my 2 ticket from 2007 never showed.

Lots of better road than 219.

You are the best leader :)

Use 242 then 394 all the way to warren instead. Road is bumpy northbound but better southbound.
I found most road north of Kane were actually bad from last winter.
44 north part is patched with slippery asphalt.
last weekend

My observations have been that if you get tagged by a non state trooper that the ticket never gets reported to Ontario. I've had a number of speeding tickets in New York state from town/local cops and none have been reported back here.

New York Michigan have complete recripical agreements... Others just suspend ur dl if u don't pay the fine.. Some do nothing. .

Did you pay those tickets? If not, have you been stopped after that in those states?

Worse thing is I warn everybody else about that stretch on 219 between Bradford PA and Ellicotville. NY - and that's where I got nailed.

The worst part of this road is that you are almost at home at the last bit of your journey, but not quite.. It's probably getting dark, and still gota cross the border and so on. I was trying to avoid some dark clouds coming my way as well by riding quickly ahead to the sunshine lol
So, I got booked at Salamanca - right in between Ellicotville and Bradford. I had to make it spectacular of course, and got myself also arrested for supposedly going 35mph over the limit. The cop said "In order to catch up with you, I had to go 80, meaning you at least were going 75 (in a 30)".
Half hour later, I paid $250 cash and bailed myself out, and I was on my way back to home.

And getting booked in NY during a trip means that you take another trip for the court.. not the fun kind.

Last time I fought a ticket in NY state I made a weekend of it. I requested and got a Thursday night court date. Rode there Thursday, fought my ticket, lost and then proceeded to ride around the mountains for the next 3 days. Turned out to be a fun weekend.

These statements always make me roll my eyes. Unless I see the cop has an accelerometer, a timer and a slide rule, there's no way it ever means anything.

I received a ticket in niagara falls( NY side) and basically he gave me a ticket which was essentially a court date or I could just mail the payment in. So yes I had to drive 2 hours to court but it worked out really good. The court i went to had a smart way to keep the money in the county and not the state. they reduced everybody's ticket( including minor weed charges) to $80 parking tickets.
I could not believe but thought how smart that was. So nothing got reported back, I paid and was on my way.

Interesting, and the state has no problem with that the county is getting all the money? What we can see here is evidence of traffic tickets are just purely cash grab.

Simcoe county used to have a traffic 'school' for first time speeders. I got nabbed coming down a hill in Bradford, just over 15kph over, and was given a choice to show up at the courthouse and take a remedial course, pay a fine, and the ticket would go away.

Later on the program was shut down due to complaints about cash grabs, but it worked for me at the time. Lol.

depends on the insurance company.
state farm doesn't give a crap unless you have a major conviction, or three minors within three years. But if you have any of those state farm will drop you.

-going off what my agent told me.
That is extremely incorrect information! lol. Just having a single ticket can disqualify you from "A PLAN" which would mean a massive increase in your premium.
