That link means nothing. You can find good and bad examples of everything.

For example, Toyotas are well known as some of the longest lasting cars out there yet my parents' yaris needed a $1500 repair for something broken with the vvt-i system at only 35k kms. Good thing warranty took care of that. It just happens sometimes. On the flip side of that my friend has a 1995 5 spd tercel and for 50k kms its been losing 1L oil every two tanks of gas due to a bad main seal and cam seals and we both beat the ever living piss out of it for that amount of kms too. Just wont die. Its at 255k kms now.

Yeh they're sitting outside Royal right now at a discounted price. Hmmm, I wonder why Pirelli & Metzler never go on sale?

Dunlops sell Q3 for cheaper than Pirelli and Metzler because the manufacturer sells them for cheaper to suppliers, who then sell them cheaper to the bike shops. Most likely cheaper manufacturing somewhere down the line. They're not being sold for a cheaper price to get rid of them due to quality.

Out of all the tires I've had, was least satisfied with the Bt-016, currently have the Q3 on my bike, but haven't tried them yet.

This thread is getting good. Yall bicker like a bunch of chicks. I'm going to start a what's the best oil thread :lmao:

Haha i know, and i just simply asked for explanation on what am i doing wrong or is it the tire. I never knew i was starting a war. Im simply a noob when it comes to sport bikes and im just looking for answers. Like said before it probably wasnt the tire but the weather and me being to heavy on rear brake and throttle.

I just replaced my stock Battlax BT14's for new Dunlop Q3's. Huge difference in stickiness...although we will see how long they last. I hate those stock Battlax. I'm sure the other models are better. My friend swears by the S20's.

i heard that the ones that come factory installed arent dual compound, my buddy bought a set of dual compounds and he loves them.
i just started running the PP3's.... much better than the factory installed Qualifiers that i had (original qualifiers on the CBR...not q2 or q3)

Every tire feels a bit different and each manufacturer has their preference on what they want their profile to be. Tires have come a long way in the past 10yrs and no one really makes a bad tire these days. Find something you like the feel and profile of and you'll be a happy rider. If you have to run your Sport biased tires at high psi to avoid squaring off you're likely better off using a Sport-Touring tire day to day anyways.

I run Dunlop Q2/3's on the street and Dunlop GPA's on the track. I've run Pirelli and Bridge for many many miles on street and quite a few on track and just prefer the Dunlop's (also very happy with the Pirelli Diablo SuperCorsa's but they are quite expensive).

Run what you want but don't tell everyone their choice is wrong if you have no experience with that tire.

I run 42r 36f on the street because if I run lower pressures I just wear a wider flat strip down the middle of the tire...after a while it's so squared off that i can feel it on tip in.

That will happen anyway but it will take slightly longer running those pressures and your getting less performance from your tire. Those pressures are good for riding with a passenger or lots of gear.

LOL ... Someone should let Dunlop know that the famous motorcycle forum, the mighty GTAM, has ruled the new Q3 being crap and dangerous, because .... a) it has stiffer walls by using a carbon fibre .... b) the price is just too cheap to be true for a good tire ......

I just feel sorry for the new people coming here and thinking they are getting a good advice.

You have to wade through the **** to find the gold.

Wow. Do I ever look stupid. I had no idea about all these ****** tires.

8 bikes.
20+ years of riding
400 000+ kms ridden

"I need new tires"

"What do you want?"

"Put a new set of what's on the bike."

Man.....I could have been killed.

I need to pay more attention to all these people with opinions.

I loved my q2s and q3s. Not a single issue with them. And I'm not sponsored by them. I keep my pressures at 32/32 and they never slip. Sacrifice a bit of tire wear for grip any day.
