quick turn throttle question

It could be the way you installed the grip back on, the grip end could be rubbing against the body of the throttle causing resistance

I thought of that, and tried to play around with it a little but no luck. I'll take it off completely before the season starts and reinstall to see if I can fix it, I don't want go back to 1/5

I bought the motion pro. $150 and it's not plastic as others have said. It's a solid piece of equipment. Unlike TJ's flimsy one it doesn't look like it will break in a crash.

Edit: looks like TJ and Paulo are banned. i guess i missed out on shenanigans.

The housing is cast aluminum, its the cams and throttle tube that are plastic.......My OEM housing is plastic, plastic tends to wear and then it gets sticky or just doesnt have a smooth pull....

All aluminum parts IMO offer the smoothest throttle, but they rattle quite a bit on some setups....The tighter tolerance of billet machined parts matched together if far greater then cast and plastic molded parts...Thats what tends to make them smoother and more precise , then the plastic and cast stuff

I just ordered the Robby Moto, I paid $180, and everything is billet aluminum......Thats a great value for all billet parts, compared to the Motion pro that is made of cheaper materials for only $30 less....

Ive installed the Motion Pro its a good kit, it works well, its one of the cheaper options...Its just not the highest quality part out there, some people like myself want more

Also a benefit of having a aluminum throttle tube, is they dont tend to break apart like the plastic ones in a crash...This can mean the difference between riding or not after a crash....As a shattered throttle tube will prevent you from riding....

I figure if the plastic in the throttle tube is destroyed, then there isn't likely much left of the bike either.

It could be just a broken clip-on and throttle tube from a low side slide. Pretty common.

Exactly I've been there before, I carry spare handle bars, levers, pegs, rearsets, just for that reason. I'd hate to be all the way at calabogie for 2 days, and have to go home half way through day one because of a low side that only broke something so simple as a clipon or throttle tube.

To each their own the MP kit is very decent product. I just think I got a better product for only $30 more then the MP. I have a lot of other billet products on my bike so it will blend in nicely.... If $30 breaks the bank for you then go MP or even something cheaper like the rifleman inserts. If it gets the job done and your happy with it then it's all good

I guess I better stock up on spare clip on bars, throttle tubes and what not. I'll keep the stock throttle kit in my spare parts bin, just in case.

Unfortunately because you own a GSXR that stock option is not there anymore unless you buy a whole new OEM housing....The GSXR had the switch housing and throttle housing all in one unit, to make the revolver work/fit on your clipon I had to cut the throttle section of the housing out completely....

Other bikes like mine, have the switch housing and throttle housing separate....

Also keep in mind you would have to also change out the cables to use the OEM throttle housing....So you would have to remove your fuel tank and airbox track side to access the cables at the throttle boddies

Better off just getting a spare throttle tube from Motion pro

I've got the motion pro quick throttle on my R6, and it works fine. But like Johnny said, it's all plastic and likely to crack if you go down throttle side. For the price difference it's probably worth ordering the other kit. I would have done the same if I had known a kit was available for nearly the same price.

That being said, the HRC quick throttle kit for my old F4i was also plastic and prone to braking (I cut and ground down the last half inch after a crash to salvage it), but spares were easily available and relatively inexpensive. So I guess it's sort of common to make them this way. I just carry the original throttle and cable as a back up.
