drunk Porsche driver 233km/h on the 401

Fellah was in a drunken stupor. Can we not just move on? I'm sure he's said sorry.

On CP24 they're saying he was arrested and being held in custody for a bail hearing because he has outstanding warrants for not appearing in court.

Sounds like this guy's missing a few screws already.

Perfect time of day to drive like a douche. At least it wasn't the mayor for once

Idiot!

If there exists a time that you need to go 233km/h on the 401, that would be the early AM hrs of a Sunday, IMO... not when you've been drinking though.

And, if you don't have a fixed address, I'm sure it's not too hard to miss a court hearing. I've once seen a guy arrested at an airport prior to a flight for family vacation with wife and kids, because he missed a court hearing that he never heard of..

Not only should he be tried but he should resign from his day job & publicly rediculed. That'll teach him

I was working at a bar that had a breathalyser on premises (coin-op). The boss was a great guy so he'd buy us the occasional drink while we were working. I had a single normal bottle of beer near the end of the shift. 30min and one club soda later, I test-drove the breathalyser machine and it gave me a reading of 0.11. Now that could have been a malfunction or a liability thing, but it kept me perpetually worried about getting pulled over after a single drink over dinner. I'm an average-sized guy and tolerate alcohol better than most (Sudbury-trained )

^^^Swim once had 3L of beer from 8pm to midnight, and blew 0.06 at the station @ 2am. So, that breathalyser is off for sure.

In Metro it quoted the cop saying "it's usually sport motorcycles doing these speeds....and they don't usually get them stopped".

1, if he could drive standard then he probobly wasnt that dunk. (jk)
2, who here hasnt done 230+ on the 401? before the 50 over came in 160 was normal left lane speed.
3, did they see the car and follow it? the stunt wont hold, they must of lost sight of the car in that time.
4, who cares stop crying

I had a friend who had a calibrated breathalyzer made by the same company that makes the popo units. I drank two 0.5L beers, and few mins after I finished the second one I blew 0.05.

A few years ago on new years my cat was at a bar in Tremblant. He had a LOT to drink. He drove there but he was planning to cab it home. The bar a breathalyzer in the basement. He blew 0.07 after he had about 10 drinks. He drove home lol. Without the breathalyzer he would have cabbed it. When he sobered up, he realized, he was probably way over the limit and the unit was probably broken.

that cat is awesome!

233 is pretty low. I had my diesel Jetta up to over 200 indicated once. That was during rush hour on the 401 (don't even know how I got that much road). I was just in a hurry and looked down and thought, "Ooops, better slow down." It was pre-172 days.
