Which "drunk" was he? MADD drunk 0.0002%? Administrative Ontario drunk 0.05%? Jail and a year off drunk 0.08%?

230kmh on that stretch of 401 eastbound at night? Meh… been there, done that. Not sure I'd advocate in an SUV, but a Cayenne Turbo gets there mighty quick. If he was really in fact DRUNK (and not some BS "drunk") then f* him. Lock him up and take the car.

I get what you're saying, but I think if they're laying the impaired driving charge it's the real limit of 0.08 BAC
 
I guess so? I hear about people being charged for 0.05 and anything between that and 0.08 too so I don't know any more. Maybe they're different charges?

Province can't have the Criminal Code changed, province introduces provincial "sanctions" to skirt that minor detail. Mind you 0.05% is standard in most of the world for criminal charges, so.

About 2 standard drinks in the first hour and then 1 per hour after that for the average adult. Some people may be able to drink 12 beers in an hour and seem ok but its usually that they are better able to hide the telltale signs of being drunk, their judgement is still very much so impaired.
