Anyone here have a Velocity Leather Jacket?

I have been eyeing these up lately.

Just wondering how they wear over time. I take it that it is CE level armour in elbows, shoulders, and back. CE level 1 or 2?

Trying to wean myself off of my Icon addiction. That being said the Overlord Prine is a nice jacket as well...

velocity stuff wears and crashes well. their newer stuff is better quality than the originals. if you buy something from them get a off the shelf jacket and not a custom. I bought a custom suit and it has never fit right. sent it back for several alterations and it still doesn't fit.

I have some leather jackets that have hit some really high velocity ;)

Cool... That is good to know. Will probably wait until the next special they run with the upgrade to kangaroo for the same price as leather. If the second jeans order comes in next week I will go in to check out the jackets this time. Already decided I want the VR Pro gloves. I really liked those.

I bought a Velocity jacket at the start of the season and posted my review here. I'll update the review after I crash test it ;)

I hope this is unusual, as I was thinking of ordering a custom suit from them...

I thought about it a couple of years back also but had two people who talked me out of it. Their suits didn't fit either when made "custom". One was eventually made right but the other never did get reworked.

It's a roll of the dice. Those tall skinny kids making the suits over in Pakistan don't really have our Canadian body types figured out yet ;) If you order a custom suit, do it with the understanding that if you want it to fit flawless, you'll have to bring it to Bickle and pay some $$ and it'll fit you like a glove after.

But if your paying for a custom suit, you should have to pay money to alter it more.

How come Icon doesn't put collar's on their jackets?

On-Topic - I was hoping to go to Jimmy for a custom jacket as my next jacket, because all of the jackets out there aren't worth the $$ - VERY VERY few have 6 zippered vents like my current jacket, which (for me) is the most important feature of a street jacket, given our summers (15C mornings, with 30 C afternoons :s)

I have the naked jacket. The leather is the best feature. Totally outstanding feel. It fits me well in the chest and arms, but I find it a little short in the torso and the cuffs are a little too loose so it's difficult to wear with gauntlet gloves. Could be improved by having it able to Velcro tighten at the wrists. Not crash tested yet.

I have an original matte jacket, it's great.
With regards to fit, I got mine customized and it fits quite well. I bought it smaller than I should have but that's on me.

Got the naked jacket in the winter. Love it.

The velcro around the waist could use some improvement, just doesn't seem right. Other than that it's great -- definitely recommend Jimmy's gear.

Not jacket but pants and gloves from Velocity. Quality is very good. Durability (no crashing) has been very good. Gloves fit great.

Pants were custom and not a good fit. They're okay and I made my own adjustments - I needed to pull in the waist about 3 inches.

If you can get a fit from a stock jacket you'd be better off than the crap shoot of a custom. If not, I would still try a custom but I'd be very pushy about getting accurate measurements and trying it on at delivery.

I really like their stuff but the custom fitting needs improvement.

It is not unusual. Talk to Bickle about how many need work. Some are unworkable as my brothers was. I bought an off the shelf suit blind from the net and it fit so much better youd think they didn't even use my measurements. It was tried to be made "right" but laying half of a new suit because of such poor fit wasn't going to fly.

They are some of the best gloves available anywhere.

Mine are falling apart and they haven't been crashed. Seams in the fingers are gone.I think it's hit and miss with the Velocity stuff.
I'm going to try the Bickle gloves instead.
