I saw you ( speed trap version)

Sitting on 8th line by the dump entrance, he's actually standing there pointing the gun, I was lucky had a high beam flash to warn me I just smiled and nodded at the cop lol it's from when the 80 turns to 60.

When it comes to tickets it's no longer police enforcement, but police entrapment instead.

There is always a speed trap / radar on the Bloor bridge & sometimes there is cops on the bridge pointing the radar gun onto the DVP then radioing the others up ahead both ways!

The past couple of days, each morning around 630 am, getting off the 401 at Kingston rd westbound, in the motel's on the north side, they have been waiting for the morning rush. Lately it has only been officer.

Okay this area has been a speed trap forever. They used to use the long slip road off the 401 but about 8 years ago moved to that hotel.

My friend got a ticket there, I laughed so hard, told him he deserved it for getting caught there.

There is no specific day or time when the tax collectors aren't there. Either use a different route or make sure you do not go above 60. And be prepared to stop even if you are not speeding because I have seen the dumbasses run out in traffic to stop someone in the middle lane so they can write their $50 ticket.

Steeles Ave W at Conley (Halfway between Bathurst/Dufferin), on the north side. I see them there a few times a week.

Also, heads up: I once got a ticket for 'Misuse of Headlights' for flashing my high beams at cars coming toward a radar trap. I fought it in court and won, but watch out. They'll nab you if they see you doing it.

Hate to be the guy with a stick in his bum, but flashing high beams is illegal. I know this thread is about speed traps and its obvious they're looking for speeders, not an individual otherwise they'd have a check point set up... The act of flashing is illegal regardless of situation though because the PoPo could be looking for someone (eg violent criminal, child abductor etc) if you were to happen to flash your beams at that person alerting him to a police road block you may have just aided them in evading capture.

You could always just say that there was a car in front of you cutting you off or a person jay walking in you path so you flashed them to get out of the way or to be aware of your incoming :lmao!

How are the cops going to prove that? You were avoiding an accident or you just want to make the slow poke in front of you to to move over so you can pass!

I live in that neighbourhood. They're there so often grabbing people as they escape downtown and head for the DVP that's it's actually weird for there to NOT be cops there.

Also on Eglinton hiding around the bridge just west of Leslie.

It's just common sense though. Traffic sucks and Toronto roads are terrible. They hide out at the few places where the road opens up enough that people CAN speed. Like, you're not gonna see a speed trap on King Street downtown. Or most of the other streets downtown for that matter.

That seems like a pretty heavy assumption. If we see a cop standing with a radar gun pointing it towards opposite traffic, then we can pretty much assume 98.3% of the time that he is just looking for speeders and not a criminal like you mentioned.
they have amber alerts for that kind of stuff, and a road block and a cop with a gun are pretty big difference.

Way to spoil the party sally!

I knew I'd catch flak. :-( all I'm makkng note of is that flashing is illegal regardless of the circumstance be it speed trap, amber alert r.i.d.e. check etc... I may be a little bit more in favour of the PoPo - My wife's uncle is an area cop, I'm 6'2" 240lb and he could probably pound me into the ground like a railroad spike - so I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of the law when he's involved ?

Not so sure it's illegal...

http://www.wheels.ca/warning-of-speed-traps-perfectly-legal/

Having automatic flashing lights (like emergency vehicles have built into their headlamps) is illegal.
