I wouldn't call it inferior, just re-purposed. I prefer the FZ6R to the Ninja 650R.

Not bad reads, especially the 3rd article.

Good street bike as that's what it's designed for.

Sorry, I removed the third link with the edit, because it was comparing to the R6. However, in that article, I saw this:

"Although its name suggests an evolution of the FZ6, the FZ6R is a completely new motorcycle with a much milder temperament. A cheaper-to-produce steel-tube frame and box-section swingarm replace the FZ6's cast-aluminum parts, with more relaxed geometry and a lower seat that welcomes shorter riders."

I whould wait another season, considering u only ridden 8 months .... but then again its all in the wrist.. best traction control ever, thats my 0.02 cents ... good luck

CBR500 is too little of a jump IMO, with only 47hp on the crank, compared to 32 of Ninja 250, and all that weight. It's also too expensive for what it is, just like the Ninja 300.

I'd def suggest you look for one too. Although 650r, SV650 and FZ6R have a lot less HP, they are proven to be great bikes for sure. But the undertail exhaust of the FZ6 is just pure music =) I get even the SS ppl ask me about the exhaust lol
