RIDER'S CHOICE @ Shannonville - May 23rd

Come out on the 6th, I don't want to be the only newbie out there. lol

I would love to. I just got laid off so I'm trying to gather some funds. I will keep in touch with you though.

How are you getting the bike out there? Whats your location?

I think it would be fun, I don't wanna be the only nub either haha

Yikes, sorry to hear man.

I have a GMC Safari on the lot right now, plan on taking the seats out and just stuff the bike in there. lol
I'll be leaving out of Ajax.

Right on man. Well I'll let you know if I can make it. I'd be renting a trailer and coming from the hammer.

If you can fit two bikes on the trailer, let me know.
I'll gladly pitch in and save us both some money.

I'm in Hamilton, and thinking about Shanny for a first track, but I will take any advise.

???

Why not TMP? It's practically in your back yard, and a pleasant drive. Shannonville is a loooooong Hwy 401 trek - better part of 3 h for you. No problem in the morning when you are excited and jacked up on coffee...but the drive back in the evening...

People like to slag TMP but honestly it is a fun and relatively simple track and a great place to learn. If it is your first track day, it will offer plenty of challenge in terms of figuring out the lines. I've been there over 10 times and corner 3 is still something of a mystery to me, and I am only now really coming to grips with 9. If you can even knit together the two exit corners (11 and 12) properly on your first day you will be doing better than most.

Split the difference, Grand Bend on June 13th then.

Funny you should mention that because my brother and I are currently trying to decide if we should do GB on the 13th or SMP on the 17th. We have never been on track at SMP and he is concerned about the frequent comments here that the asphalt is in poor shape. How big a deal is that? Neither one of us is very fast yet but we do like to keep track of lap times and try to improve if we can - we are not going there to just cruise around.

SMP is not that bad for a modern bike. But it's rougher than we'd all like it, to be sure.

Despite the "bad shape" I find SMP to have better overall traction than Grand Bend and FAR better than TMP.

Haven't been yet but I can't wait #trackfever!!!!

SMP Long track is a very fun, fairly technical layout. I love it, just hate driving for longer than I get to ride. haha

Yeah, but give me 15 minutes and I'm ready to go again.

Er, wait.. what was the subject again?

LOL... WTF is going on, looks like I might take a chance and go out on Thursday if the forecast clears up a bit.
