RIDER'S CHOICE @ Shannonville - May 23rd

Fawaz always has some expert riders there for anyone to take advantage of for on-track help, which is awesome.

Looks like it will be raining at both tracks on Thursday. I might have to post pone in it until June 6th long track with RC.

You can't trust weather forecasts, esp five days from today.

You never know what the weather is going to be like at TMP. Forecast has never been right (from my experience and many others who've been there much longer than me).

Same can be said for Shanny. I've done 5 track days there the past two years that it was forecast rain much of the day each time and I've only lost 90min total out of those days to rain (it rained on only one of the days and started at 3pm).

Don't know where everyone was but it was a great day after the track dried up. Open track all day. I am tired today.

Yeah, got at least as much track time in as a full day with 3 groups. Weather was great after 11am, even the wife got a sunburn!

Lucky!

I'm postponing my first track day to June 6th with RC long track.
Should be good to go by then and hopefully the weather is co-operating.

And you were running fast all day. I had you at about 1 15

Hey thanks! Sarah and I were admiring your setup :)

Had to bring the 'b' bike, stock with street tires. Struggled to find grip around turn 5, but still was a lot of fun with the everyone out there. On the "old" 600 I usually run under 1:10.

Sadly I'll miss the 6th but hope to see everyone in July on Long track!

The setup is overkill for a track day but with 3 bikes and getting up at 4 AM, running all 3 sessions all day etc it was wearing me out so now I go down the night before. I get a good nite sleep and I'm sitting drinking coffee when everyone else shows up.

See you in July.

Looking to do a first track day ever. What would you guys recommend? Not a noob to riding but looking to get tips for the track and ride with some of you faster guys.

looking to go mid June

I'm one of the backmarkers so that's not me.

But, where are you located? Do you have a method do get your bike to the track or will you need to ride it to the track?

If it'll be your first track day ever, better to focus on learning the track and riding within your comfort level than trying to keep up with someone else. It'll take a little while to learn the lines on the track, less so for Fabi but more for Long as there are more corners. Have you done any courses yet? There will be experienced riders available to lead you around so you have an awesome time. Read the sticky on doing your first trackday for good ideas on how to make sure you are prepared and ready for a great day.

When I say riding with the faster guys, I mean so I can learn things etc. Not try and race them lol.

I have already looked into what I will need how to prepare the bike and such. I will most likely be renting a trailer to tow it to a track.

I'm in Hamilton, and thinking about Shanny for a first track, but I will take any advise.
