Which 2013 600cc SS should I buy?

The original poster already has her mind made up already. She's going to get a zx6r... Not sure why she asked in the first place..

only to hear that she has to sit on the bikes themselves

Hey guys,

I have been browsing these forums for awhile, since I was 21. I recently landed a dream job, and finally have the money to invest in a motorcycle. I have my heart set on a 2013 600cc super sport. My commute to work is only 10km away. I was hoping to get some input, advice, or critism regarding which 2013 600cc super sport to buy, and any suggestions on where to buy from. So far I am torn between the Honda CBR 600RRA, and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R ABS. I don't feel that the R6 or GXR-R600 compare, but I could be wrong.

Thanks in advance for any help, it is a big purchase, so it is greatly appreciated!

- Ward

Honda CBR600RRA
Bike Cost : 13,599 + HST
Insurance : 1911.20 = about 159 a month
PROSCONS
Saftey (Anti lock breaking)

Cheaper on insurance

Exhaust is under the seat (I prefer this look)
Only one colour scheme, the tri-colour, I don't hate it, but I don't like it.

Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R ABS
Bike Cost : 12,849 + HST
Insurance : 2422.89 = About 201 a month
PROSCONS
Saftey ( Anti lock breaking, traction control, power modes)

Assist and Slipper clutch

Colour scheme, both the green+black, and black look good.

Cheaper than the CBR by roughly 750.00$

Cruise control
More expensive on insurance by roughly 511.00 a year

Exhaust would have to be replaced with GP Mount exhaust for esthetic reasons which could cost 400-900$
Are u an accountant? I like the way how u even align the margin and things on your analytics

The reason for the significant bump in insurance on the kawi is because of the extra 36 cc.
Get a quote for a zx10 the insurance may not be that much higher. If u are paying $500 more for 36cc might as well get another 400cc

Btw, be prepare u will scratch up the fairings after a few drops. Since this is your first bike
I seriously doubt u will not drop your bike within a few weeks. Or maye even the first day ...good luck

did you just recommend a zx10for a first bike? :lmao:

Seems like he already made up his mind on getting the 600 and would not consider a 250 or something smaller.

My suggestion, for sure go with a 250 to start. But I am sure there are some people out there who thinks they are different and can handle more powerful bikes right from the get go and there is nothing anyone can say that can change their mind...

Also, I like to hear if anyone had a Hayabusa as their first bike and is still alive to share their experience :p

The busa is barely a sport bike. It's so comfy and relaxing I think most people that got it as a first bike would survive OK.

Personally, I wouldn't go for the 600RR based on looks alone. If it came down between the new RR or the 636, it would be the 636 for me.
The 636 comes with traction control and a slipper clutch from the factory which is definitely a bonus.

Never been a fan of the R6 and the GSX-R really hasn't brought anything new to the table.
I think the 636 is the best Japanese bike in it's class.

Sonny, you’re joking right?

I would never recommend an MV F3 to a newbie. Hell, at this point I’m not sure I’d recommend an F3 to seasoned rider who was also a motorcycle mechanic. :sad1:

You own an MV, you read the forums, you know the issues. This is a first time buyer who needs a dead reliable, easy to ride and simple to maintain motorcycle. We both know the MV F3 is none of these things.

You shouldn't be restricting yourself, have you seen the liter bikes out there? The R1, the ZX-10, the CBR1000RR etc. These are some amazing rides. Also, don't forget they ZX-14 and the Hayabusa. Explore your options....don't decide based on other people's bias or what they call, opinion. Get what you like, what feels comfortable and fun and what you can afford.

Lol what??

I would as you have had issues but many have not. I think the bike is a good deal and a nice bike. What isn't simple to maintain about it? It isn't a norton commando.. my MV has also had no issues. So......calm down, you are overreacting big time....I went back to the F3 forum and I see a lot of enjoyment not so many complaints

and I did a post search for you and I don't see all these complaints in fact I see a recent long ride from Trent to rice lake on your F3. Why don't you sell it and get a Honda?
