Any opinions on the Yamaha FZ8?

I demoed the FZ8 this year, it's comfortable, handles well, looks great, and has plenty of torque. Only thing that annoyed me was the clutch, but you get used to it.

Oh ya I forgot about the clutch, yes it does take some getting used to and even experienced riders will stall the bike from time to time.

That fz8 looks seriously cool.
How was the torque off the line?

Torque is good but the -1 front sprocket really woke it up.

What is the deal with the clutch? Is it a very narrow range of engagement?

Yes that is correct. I had Pazzo levers on mine which I felt gave me a little better feel.

Thanks for all of your responses.
I pulled the trigger this morning and called Brantford Motorcycles, gave them a credit card number for a deposit and then went down and picked it up this afternoon.

I'll give a thumbs up to Brantford Motorcycles. We negotiated a trade-in value for my old bike that I felt was fair, considering it's late November. There were no hidden costs, and they didn't even charge for a licensing fee... simplest vehicle purchase I've ever made.
Now I just have to wait for spring. I think it's going to be a long winter.:(

BTW, I know what you guys mean with the clutch. I stalled it loading it on my trailer.

Congrats! Enjoy your new toy! Don't worry about the clutch, you'll get used to it after the first stop and go traffic you hit while on the bike :)

I don't know you but I officially hate your guts! =P

Enjoy the new ride! I'm completely envious.

If I may ask, how much were you able to trade your old ride for and what was it?

Congrats on your purchase!

What year and colour did you buy?

Thanks. It's a new 2012 red and white. Just like the one you had, except without all of the nice mods.
Those may take a little time. ($$$$)

The 50th Anniversary colour is the best but I may be a bit biased!

Once you get some seat time you will really enjoy it.

I am in Whitby so give me a shout if you have any questions related to your new ride.
