Im 19 with my g2/m2 no tickets or anything. Also I got my m1&m2 this year(m2 with Humber training course) and start driving from 16 hope this helps also I had Ninja 250 for 6months

Use the search feature. This is one of the most talked about topics and has been covered to death. In a nutshell, you're most likely SOL. Insurance should be the first thing you check before buying a vehicle, especially a SS. State Farm is generally the only one who'll insure sport bikes at a reasonable price but you have to be over 25 with the requisite experience. My suggestion would be to sell the bike and buy a non-SS machine.

Sell it and get a 125/250/300/400/500
Learn how to RIDE first! Even if you've ridden in another country, riding in Toronto is totally different. And same goes for any city/country. Learn the environment, learn the driver's mentality, learn that you're not invincible; rather INVISIBLE to drivers.
Your insurance co will be happier. More experience+high age bracket = lower rates

Had 250 this year and I'm going to get it insured under my friend

Lol I wouldn't do that if I were you... It really isn't worth getting screwed the rest of your life to save a few bucks. Chances are if you were to get into an accident and you were to take someones limb off or kill someone, your insurance company try to find a way to not pay out. In that case, if the other party were to sue you for $1,000,000 for whatever reason, umm... You're screwed.

Being 19, "The cool factor" tends to come into play which is why insurance companies have stupid high rates for young riders.

As for your friend, I bet your friend doesn't know that anything you do on his insurance will effect him/her.

Lol don't we usually get these at the beginning/mid season? Not in winter...

Yep, but at the same time you don't usually get 19 year olds WITH previous bike experience make a stupid decision by buying a SS without getting an insurance quote and wanting to insure it under a friend's name.

To OP: Did you get a quote with TD or TD Meloche Monnex? If you fall under their groups, you might be able to get a more reasonable price.... Although... It probably will still be $4000+ a year...
