NEED hELp getting insurance for my YZF-R6

$10,000 sounds right for a 19yr old on a R6. I am 24 with an r6 with clean record, driving for +6yrs and SF quoted me for $4000 a year. All I have to say is stick with the 250, get some riding exp and upgrade in 2 yrs to a 400CC or something. And about getting your insurance under your friends name... you're screwed if you get into an accident. Simple as that

Like someone mentioned, you can get Facility Insurance for probably $3500 - $4500, and they will want the FULL amount up front, 1 payment.

they also offer the option of making 4 payments in 4 months back to back.

I tell all my friends who ask me, always check insurance before buying a bike, some of them even wanted to buy all the gear and helmet for the M2 course. Of course I advised them not to, lent them my jacket and gloves for the course, and none of them ended up buying a bike after getting their M2.

But maybe buying all the gear for the M2 course just gives them that push to actually buy a bike as they already invested $x on the gear already. Unless they feel like they HAVE to get an SS bike, insurance wouldn't be too bad (given a clean record).

Insuring under your friend's name is fraud. When you go to make a claim, the insurer will almost certainly investigate and discover your stupid ploy and:

1.) Can deny portions of your claim

2.) Flag both you and your friend for misrepresentation fraud (i.e. neither of you will get affordable insurance for a VERY LONG time)

A 600SS is expensive to insure because it isn't remotely suitable for a new rider. There are plenty of threads on this topic.
