another question. any of you guys leave your helmets on bike? like locked under the seat or whatever.
it would be alot simpler to leave it there but if it gets stolen what a PITA after. so just wondering how many do it and if that's ever happened before

I always leave my helmet locked to the bike, but I usually only wear my Icon to school, and it's not a really expensive helmet. The only way it's coming off is if they cut the strap... now that happened to a friend of mine in his parking garage of his building (the grey one on Gerrard across from Kerr Hall North) but I've never had a problem. I think it'd be fine in the lot

Yea, off of McGill behind the theatre school. It's alright, I believe there are cameras there, and the security guards keep an eye on it. No chance of a car hitting your bike there, too

Lately there have been kids hanging around there. Security encourages you to call, if you see anyone loitering in the lot. Also occasionally people park in the laneway that leads to the bike section of the lot. This usually isn't a problem, because you can squeeze by fairly easily, but I was actually blocked in once this summer. The person who did it is a resident of one of the houses that abuts the lot and got back to his SUV just before the tow truck showed up.

sweet. sounds like I found a new parking spot.

I wouldn't leave my helmet on the bike, were I you. If anything happens to it, then you aren't riding home and no matter how good security is there, do you really want to leave your bike anywhere in the downtown core overnight?

I had this happen to me in the spring. I was in no hurry, but the security guard who was taking down the plates was apologetic.

Right... I wasn't thinking about this. I live at Bloor, so worst case is I walk home to get my other helmet

Only this is Ted rogers is at the other end of the campus, so I think I'll stick to parking near the old municipal hall, or near main campus by bicycles or on victoria street.

I'm on the red and white FZR - loud pipes. I don't bite :)

What motorcycle lot?! I'm at Ted Rogers too but I have one class in the chang school.

Paying for parking on a motorcycle in Toronto? LOL only at Ryerson.

The school's latin moto translates roughly into: "Gouging students every way we can."

The alumni association called me asking for handouts once and never again.

$99 for 12 months of (relative) peace of mind isn't terrible

You can park on the street for free and take your chances, or you can park in a lot for a very low annual fee. Your choice.

There are five or six of us, in Computer Services, who ride.
Cool, I run the I.T. department at Redeemer University in Ancaster, we also have a riding club, and 4 out of 5 of us in the I.T. department ride.

Starting my second year at TRS in a few days and I would definitely be interested in joining something. I have a couple friends in my program who ride as well so I'll bookmark this page and try to keep updated.

I have a blue r6. I usually park under the kerr hall archway entrance to the quad, or on bond.. and I always bring my helmet with me

Did you take summer courses? I saw a bike parked under the archway and always wondered if they could get a ticket there.

As for the 99 bucks for parking, I rather pay that and have piece of mind as well. I HATE parking DT, I fear for my bike getting knocked over.

Yes, you can get a ticket for parking there. People haven't been ticketed for such things over the last couple of years but, given the look on the face of the head of Campus Business Services when I ran into him in the parking lot, recently, the hammer is likely to fall this semester.

I think that some poor guy who parks his CBR125 on Gerrard in the pay and display not only had his bike knocked over a couple of days back but lifted up, moved to the sidewalk, and THEN dropped. Bastards.

Yeah, I took both spring and summer classes so it was probably mine.. Haven't gotten a ticket yet, but once I do I guess I'll stick it on bond or find something else.. School tomorrow ahhhhhhhhh:x
