"Not 250 friendly rides" - What does that mean?

The video is an example of a ride in which the group did not accommodate a noob or 250cc small bike.


Listen, the 250 is a great bike for what its worth but people gotta stop putting this thing on a pedestal, Its not meant to compete with SS bikes. If 250s were as quick as SS bikes....there would be no need/market/want for anyone to own a SS.

The rider could have gone down for many reasons, you'd have to ask the rider yourself as to what really happened.....but there is a very good chance that rider was pushing beyond their limit throughout the corners to try and make up the gap the SS bikes made on the straights. I've seen it done a millllllllion times.

This group was very scattered and not the best example of "group riding".

What I meant is I would love to have recorded footage of me passing GSXR's, CBR's and other SS's in the corners in my group at Shannonville. Your mentality is the same of an unskilled 250lbs brute who thinks he can beat up anyone just because he's so big and bad...

To the other guy making assumptions of the crash in which all we see is a bike laying on its side, GTFO with your dumbass logic....next time a SS crashes on a group ride, you can say the ride wasn't meant for noobs or a SS, especially not for a noob on a SS...

"A 250 is not meant to compete with a SS" really, no **** Sherlock...Just like how a 155lbs fighter is not meant to compete against a 205er. It doesn't mean they can't train and spar together, that's why there are divisions for competition...A group ride is not a race or a competition, if you go in with that mentality, that's what causes the dumbasses to crash.

Why so sensitive? Ok, you're faster than Rossi..we get it..read the rest of the posts..most 250's on the street are ridden by noobs and who probably won't enjoy a spirited ride. Don't be so self-concious.
 
This is for Redrock...its all over in the first 30 secs, and you got a pretty 250 smirking in the background...I guess this ride was too fast for a ZX-14.

You aren't wrong there Eden. In fact not many tears ago, a 250GP bike won the RACE "Open" (now called Superbike) championship at Shannonville.

Good afternoon GTAM After reading this thread I've come to the realization that I was being robbed. For the last 10 years I have been spending countless dollars on SS bikes that I was always thought were the quickest most exhilarating machines two wheels had to offer. Little did I know that the secret to motorcycling was something I had been over looking for years. The ALLLL MIGHTY 250! Cheaper to purchase, a fraction of the price for insurance, tires last much longer, better gas mileage, AND JUST AS QUICK AS ANY SS!

FML , why didn't RTI tell me this during the course...It could have saved me thousands upon thousands over the years.

WTB: The mighty 250 (prefer Blk)
 
There's no real comparison when talking about the differences in performance. An SS in and of itself is superior to every other bike out there in terms of speed and handling. But when you get to real world scenarios, and different rider skill-sets, there are situations where a smaller bike can come out on top.

Redrock - I'm not sure why this is such a thorn in your side. Who the frack cares if people put a certain bike on a pedestal? Enjoy your ride for the reasons you bought it. I ride a Harley, so imagine the flaming I get for riding a 600lb hunk of chrome. :p
