Why you shouldn't cheap out on riding pants ***GRAPHIC***

Has anyone had experience with Kevlar jeans while using the form fitting under armour underneath them? I was thinking of going this way because to be honest I'm not a fan of leather pants. Ill do a track suit when I eventually make it to the track.

Venom,

I have the Bohn under armour. Sort of long johns with padding at thighs, hips and base of the spine that fit under regular pants. The intention is ATGATT without looking like it. They fit quite tight so movement in a crash might not be a problem, cannot be sure of this as I have not road tested them yet. What I can tell you is that combined with unpadded Draggin jeans this is one hot combination. So hot that I have taken to leaving them in the drawer and sticking with the Draggin jeans. (I know that I will probably regret this but what the heck).

Not sure what would work best. For what it is worth I would suggest piling on as much protective gear as you are comfortable wearing that doesn't interfere with your ability to ride your bike. GDM

I ride full leather when it's not raining, textile when it does. Leather in 34C is darn hot but good underwear like Aliki's stuff really help a lot. Ideally the pants and jackets that combine leather(at impact/slide points) and textiles for breathability seem like the most reasonable combo. The other option might be the jeans put out by Vanson that combines a 1000 denier mesh sandwiched between two layers of denim.

Haha that's Karma for you. Make a badass pose over that coyote you just killed, mother nature sends a deer your way to finish the job.

Oh and anybody who thinks they can avoid a deer by obeying the speed limit is a retard.

What this guy ^ said is so true ... First year I rode, I only wore regular jeans, jacket, helmet and gloves. Now, I wear Kevlar jeans with knee and shin protection underneath. If buying riding pants they've got to fit well or the armour underneath won't protect you.

The built in armour is pretty useless. It'll just rotate out of the way in a crash. Wearing standalone kneepads under the jeans would work better. That way they are strapped to your leg and much less likely to move.

Yup, I wear the Dainese knee/shin protectors under the Kevlar jeans. They are fairly comfortable and offer good protection.

Don't ride like madmen in twisties and there's no need for extra gear. What are the chances of getting a nasty wound like this at normal speeds and normal riding?

I crashed at 40 and lost all the skin on my knee. Jeans don't do anything. I might as well have been wearing paper pants.

Motoport stuff is supposed to be way more comfortable than leather (and they claim it's stronger). It's super expensive though.

Hang on, let me send you some motorcycle crash insurance claims I've handled and see if you change your mind.
For the love of my sanity, please tell me you're trolling.

What does this mean.

Also; I found some motorcycle pants that look like jeans at Royal Distrubing. Anyone have experience with these? They comfy? Do they work, or should I just go textile?

Sartso jeans and Knox Flex Lite knee guards, in addition to the usual jacket, gloves, and boots. Always.
