Why you shouldn't cheap out on riding pants ***GRAPHIC***

And how fast do you ride on the 400 series or QEW? you don't have to be railing twisties to get injured in a get off. Get clipped on the highway and go down at 110km/h and see how jeans do in a slide.
Hes Pegassus, he can avoid any obstacle with a flick of a wing

Dude, I've seen many many accidents, and this is easily possible with a 450+lb bike on top of you and you're going down pavement. Ever touched your finger on a belt sander? Imagine that belt is asphalt, pin 100lbs on top of that finger and turn the sander on for 4 seconds and see what it looks like... You'll get the same result.

Im assuming you have all your digits, so I'm gonna guess you have no experience with power tools, but I'm hoping you can follow me on this analogy.

Did you parents keep you in a bubble?

No his parents dropped him...

I went down a couple weeks ago, fractured collarbone, no road rash though. Pants tore up a bit, thankful I had them on.

Is it hanging up at their store? I definitely did a number on it, but walked away without a scratch.
Got pics?

You've probably posted before, but all old posts got deleted by the owner Paul, and as such, they don't show up in your post count any more :(

ok that makes more sense because I did have a few posts before. Thanks

I wish I did, but no. I still wear the pants as they only got a bit of rash. I landed mainly on my face and shoulder, so the jacket got really ripped up.

I think he wanted pics to prove you didn't get a single scratch lol

The deer was karma's revenge for gloating over the coyote. Dear are nasty, I grew up in BC and have experienced first hand what they can do to a vehicle, I hope to god I never hit one on a bike. Heard of a guy back home years ago that hit a deer while riding, the hoof sliced the side of his neck just below the helmet. If I remember correctly he didn't make it.

^^ ur sig lines... OMG.. f-ing beautifull. im stealing it

on to the thread topic. the d-bag deserved it. not because he wasnt wearing aromour or going fast but because of the pic with the dead Coyote. as others said.. Karma can be a ***** when u mess with it.

i see alot of people wear jeans when riding. i wear my Kevalr jeans all the time but with seperate knee armour. it has already saved my knees couple years ago during a crash. i always try to tell other riders that the armour that comes with their pants is nearly not enough and it WILL move but they dont seem to believe me... i shall refer this thread to them from now on.

I always preach to wear full gear and get shat on for it. I was the only one in my RTI courses wearing riding pants. After having seen someone I was riding with get hit by a car in front of me, I am even more convinced now of the benefit of riding pants.

How do riding pants protect from a vehicle impact?

is that supposed to be the same guy with the dead coyote and had his knee damaged? Why is his knee not damaged when the pic of the dead coyote was taken ? Did he hit another one? Or am i missing something?

Gear doesn't make you invincible. A lot of people fully geared get injured or worse. The point is that gear definitely reduces the severity of your injuries as compared to someone not wearing any gear - i.e. the function is to mitigate the damage in more severe crashes, particularly it protects your skin, and offers some protection to areas that are typical impact points in a fall - knees, elbows, ankles, back. In a low speed down, it might save you altogether - you walk away alittle bruised maybe.

Most gear is not going to offer you impact protection in serious collisions - if you get slammed into concrete siding by an eighteen wheeler - your gear isn't going to save you.
