Dash cam + road watch.
I had an incident where I was purposely cut off twice by a guy who didn't want me to pass him on a two lane road.
this should never have escalated past "cut off once".
you recognized he was a menace, yet chose to continue to try to pass him.
he may be at fault, but you did choose to continue to put yourself in danger.

Ridiculous. Leave it to some philosophizing gtam'er to attempt to place blame on the rider.
The reality is that you generally give the cager the benefit of the doubt (they didn't see you before changing lanes, etc) and it doesn't sink in that the person is actively trying to block you - until you try and pass again. Then it becomes clear.
I agree with the other posters here about backing off and whatnot, but that retard following you to your destination was over the line. I would not have had as much control as you.
I would do this today. An idiot on the road is one thing, but he walked into your work and confronted you telling you WHY he did what he did. That's enough reason to believe (convince the courts, should it ever get to that point) that what he did on the road wasn't unintentional, but a case of road-rage. Heck, the "I hope you crash one day" line combined with his actions could be justifiably problematic for the civic driver one day.Without mentioning the speeds involved, report him to police/Roadwatch.
