Honestly, that extra 10hp is in a place that almost nobody can make use of. You can't ride it like a 750 because it's got too much power, but if you don't then you can't use it. And on the track, my GSX-R just stomps it for less than half the cash... but of course it doesn't have all the "safety stuff" on it.
I know it's contrarian but the S1KRR has never really impressed me, and I'm a guy who used to be *all about* top end power. Somewhere along the line I learned that there is a lot more to enjoying a bike than that.
If straight line power is what you are after, get a '99 Hayabusa and add a turbo system. Total investment of around $10K and you will stomp everything this side of pro drag bikes like a bug. Just sayin'.
Edit: Just read that moto-usa review... interesting how one magazine got totally different numbers for the Aprilia. Just sayin'... but they turned a low 10 @ 140 and change with the standard bike, no variable intakes like on the Factory. I wonder if this is the same bike that Roadracing World got, and it's been abused to the point where it's not working its best anymore.
