We had a nice long thread about the OPP blitz...anyone get busted!? There were a ton of em on the 401 and I got lucky when an impatient speeder passed me only to get stopped!

On another note TONS of bikes and scooters in Montreal! And almost everyone in no gear. Its just an observation not preaching to ride in ATGATT.

I got busted.
Confiscated my bike.

Life sucks now.

There was OPP on highway 10 south, around 9. They were cleaning up pretty good there. There was even a lineup of tow trucks and flatbeds waiting.

I thought I got busted when a rather friendly looking (read: FAT) Officer stepped out, but it was the speedy Benz in front of me in Barrie that got waved over. The OPP Officer then apologized for holding me up! I did my best to give my holiest of holier than thou waves and bid him farewell. Lucky me :P

The usual, TPS hiding on bayview doing radar all day.
I mean of course there must nothing else important to attend to.

on the 400 series roads, kept it to 20 over, and was fine all weekend long.

have to say the opp presence was almost as bad as the staties in ny and pennsylvania.

Rode several hundred kilometers of back roads Sat and Sun (and had to work today).

Number of cops seen on back roads: 0.

Number of cops seen on the way to job site and back (main roads): Lots.

I got busted for my first time ever. Got me doing 139 in London but he reduced it to 120 and told me he himself drives at 120 when off duty... Just going to mail them a check and hope my rates don't go up. First speeding ticket in ten years of driving and I was warned they'd be blitzing.
Boy do I feel silly and now I'm $138 poorer and 3 points richer :disgust:

ahhh, i ****ing hate this...
bayview used to be amazing...
damn tps, ive had enough.

didnt get busted but I saw a **** load of OPP unmarked up by bobcaygeon and 507. it was really over the top.

I wonder if they didnt bother with the "blitz" and "weekend watch" tactics if we would have as many accidents/fatalities...

They like to sit in the low spot on the highway between Highpoint and Beechgrove Sideroads because by the time you crest the hill on either approach, he has you. On my way home on Sunday he had just pulled into the driveway of the Cornerstone Construction and turned around and then pulled out for his next customer.

Just for those who are not aware, anywhere on 10 between Brampton and Shelburne is heavily patrolled by the OPP on most weekends and even more so on a long weekend. The worst section is probably through Caledon village where the limit drops to 50kph. Even 15-over through there could get you pulled over.

I was riding in that area yesterday, and it was insane the amount of cops patrolling around.

The side roads leading up to Musselman's Lake was clear yesterday. Did not see one single cop.

Why is OPP so obsessed with speed??? I really don’t get it. They are always trying to catch “speeders”. People could be texting, people could be eating, people could be putting makeup on all while driving, but OPP and TPS are only worried about SPEEDING! It’s crazy. I was going across town in my car this weekend and saw so many people clogging up the left lane and most of them had no clue there was a lineup of traffic behind them. Those people are the dangerous drivers in my opinion. They should be getting the tickets for obstructing traffic.

Saw boatloads of cops Sat/Sun/Mon in and out of the city, they were out with radar guns on the 401 (though some guy passed me at 135+ at the gun and didn't get stopped), on the Bloor street viaduct in their favourite spot, unmarked cruisers on Lakeshore in the west end, etc. Passed lots of cages getting ticketed, didn't see a single bike pulled over though
